When people I am friends with are tagged in pictures by a business on facebook, it shows up in my feed.

Looks like a pretty nice setup for the price. May have to look into something like that someday, would be perfect for taking to Gilmer and State Parks around here.

I can help you get setup with some solar on top to make it off the grid if you ever need!

I'm taking it out next weekend to test it out with the fam. It's a pretty decent size. When I went to Jambo I saw a couple like it and was like oh I need that lol. That would be sweet to have a solar set up.

Come to Gilmer and test it out!

If what I read is correct, it should be solar ready, just need the panels and such possibly, but heck a good 200w kit from Renogy should not set you back much and that should be enough to power it for a bit I would suspect.

It is solar ready but it recommends using a specific solar panel for it. Idk if a different one will work.

Interesting, well see what kind of solar panel it recommends and let me know. Most should be the same really, just if it recommends a certain Wattage or something then that may make sense.

From the looks of it, looks kinda similar to the Renogy kit I have. Except it looks to include the waterproof roof access that is pretty nice that can then be expanded on pretty easily.

Looks pretty nice and worth it.

Closest dealer for them looks to be in Nacogdoches at Armadillo Supply though.

I would be interested in your ideas for a solar setup as I will be doing the same at some point.

And he can't even include the comment I put on the picture!

Just watch my build thread as I plan on documenting my solar setup on the truck when I work to install it this week.

One suggestion, depending on if you want solar on the truck or just for base camp, look at Renogy on Amazon and then look at Other Sellers option. I found my 100W kit for $165 shipped to my door from Amazon Warehouse with Prime shipping... only reason is because the box was messed up on it so they could not sell it as a "brand new" item. Everything inside the box was brand new and didn't have anything wrong with it.

Nice! What controller did you get for it? I saw some on Amazon that were less expensive and didn't use PWM to regulate the charging. Seems like the best way to go. I've got a dual battery on the truck but have debated on a solar setup for the trailer.

This is the controller that came with it.

For my application, yes, when I have the truck parked somewhere say at camp, or at work, and the fridge is still in the truck and running, will help to keep the battery charged.

Once I get a dual battery setup, will move the wiring for the panel to keep the AUX battery charged since it will be what keeps the fridge running, always on 12V ports, camp lights, and so forth powered when parked.
