I live in the south part of our state, all the cool stuff is up north. If you drive all the way north in Michigan from my house, it's a 12.5 hour drive, but it's gorgeous.

But wouldn't it be fitting to have the "Old Man Edition" sticker?

We were getting those up here last night. Don't typically have thunderstorms much here, but have quite a bit this Summer. ... one warning reported 1 inch of rain in 30 minutes up in the Tanana Valley by Fairbanks... that's a shit ton of water if I'm not mistaken. o_O

Is that a new stove...looks never used.

I used to go 4wheeling in my youth. Not anymore, I tend to break stuff. The last time was 198? and the transfer case in my K10 short bed Silverado "ladies truck" (black with red velour interior) decided to toss the front output shaft through the case. Had a heck of a time getting out of there. Of course, the time before that, I was with a friend in his Opel and we poked a hole in the oil filter. Made it home before the engine stopped for good...

I'd love to go from what I understand they have all sorts of trails from mild for beginners to wild for dedicated rigs. Pretty much all we have around here is fire roads. I've been out a couple of times but want to try more. Nothing where I'm going to tear the truck up though

Getting a rain shower this morning. Can't complain as we don't see much rain in the summer months. Kinda sucked last night. Lost power just after 7pm while it was still in the mid 90s and the index was over 100. Luckily the power restored by midnight.

Damn that sucks. Makes for a hard nights sleep.
I'm taking a break cutting cedars and will be a good time here in a few to light up some old piles.

Right now we are looking at Oregon in 9 years as retirement, rent out the L.A. place, but that is 9 years away.
We go, we break, we fix. I have fun doing that.

Chores are done. Still managed an hour of OT. I have a Kawasaki Mule diesel at work that I have the welder, generator and plasma cutter on. Well this week it developed a leak in the fuel tank. I don't haul the welder and gear much more than 20', but it was easiest at the time to put the stuff in the Mule. So, in order to move the welder and plasma cutter around now, I picked up one of those heavy duty yard wagons and I can just pull it around. Then, once I replace the fuel tank, I can put the Kawasaki back into local maintenance service.
