I have a 2017 with the 2.5 coilovers with resi's and having the same issue. Can you please confirm that you were able to adjust with them still on the truck? I saturated them with PB blaster, loosened the lock ring set screw and was only able to turn it one revolution and that's it. Bent my punch after that. lol Local shop wants $190 to adjust them as they said they need to be removed from truck.

You're lifting up the front of the truck right? You'll need to take all the Weight off the suspension. Then it should be pretty easy

Agreed. If there is ONE thing that you do, is get your coils at full droop before cranking.

Is it possible to get a second punch/spanner wrench from someone? I have two T-handles that King makes just so I can easily crank them up or down without any issue. Also, by having two, you can cut the stress on the holes in half by have two points to move the collar instead of one.

Are the coils in decent condition?

Just remember that there is a limit to how much you can unscrew the collar set screw. If it goes all the way out for instance, you run the risk of loosening the collar enough to where it can get lodged in between threads. I would see if there are any members you can meet up with or consider going to home depot to pick up a few punches to assist with the collar. If yours has resis, this might be useful for you. Kartek is pretty quick on shipping too.

I'm running the same setup and i too had the same problem. The set screw was out of reach for me and I couldn't loosen it.. I lubed the lock ring a bit, used a 5/16 punch and with a bit of muscle was able to turn the lock ring enough to where I could get to the set screw. Oh yeah and it was jacked up to release pressure off the coils.

Thanks guys. I bought some punches from harbor freight and with some muscle was able to get them adjusted.

How are you liking the Fox setup? I am about to order them as well minus the resis up front.

I just got my kit and having it installed on Monday. For the 3rd Gen owners, about how much are you seeing these needing to be adjusted to get about 2" of lift (no extra weight)? Have you all been seeing about 1" in the factory setting?

    Lots of sail boat fuel
I believe 1.75" is the happy spot per fox, up to 2"

Thanks, yea I'm looking to stick right at 2". I was just curious about how many turns/threads people are seeing if they adjust from the factory setting.

To loosen the preload collar, is it just the one Allen bolt that pinches it together or is there something else that needs to be loosened also?

The method works muscling through it with PB (a crap ton!!) spray as you go and it gets the job done. I used a box wrench as a little more leverage on the punch to make it easier. Small increments.

Alright I am going to adjust my 2.5's tomorrow and I want to confirm how y'all went about it.

    1) WD40 the hell out of the threads and as you work.
    2) life the truck to get the pressure off the coils.
    3) loosen set screw just a slight amount
    4) Turn collar till desired height (I bought a spanner wrench like a chump.)
    5) Tighten set screw
    6) Enjoy.

    Thanks yall
