So... I need to get to 50 posts to post my cruise control parts in the classifieds. I'll never get there but I'll try. If you want a brand new clutch switch, brake switch, and speed control stalk let me know...

A little introduction, I've had my 2004 Tacoma 4x4 Xtracab for 12 years and the seats have recently really been bothering me on long trips. We're going to drive up to Wyoming this summer (20 hours) from Austin, TX so I decided to splurge on some new seats.

I really wanted a set of Recaro Specialist S, but when all said and done it'd be a large percentage of the value of the truck so I decided to get a pair of Corbeau GTS II in black leather with the inflatable lumbar support. I also purchased the Corbeau seat adapters with dual locking sliders.

Purchased from racing-seats-usa.com, the seats and adapter/sliders were drop shipped from Corbeau with free shipping and no tax.

Install was straightforward. Be careful mounting the seats to the brackets with the M8 socket head cap screws, it is easy to cross thread. Also don't over tighten...

The adapters have tabs with a threaded hole to mount the seat belt receptacles to however no hardware. You'll need two 7/16" fine thread bolts, probably 1/2" under head length with 10 or so washers to make it all work. When you mount the seat belt receptacle make sure that the tab and receptacle don't interfere with the seat through the travel of the slider. I didn't check this while mounting the seat out side the car and didn't notice until I had them in the truck so I had to pull them, uninstall the seats from the brackets, and take the brackets to the bench vise to persuade it into a better location. This was only an issue on the passenger side bracket, this bracket also may have gotten tweaked during shipping...

    Everyone loves pictures:
Drivers seat removed, only one electrical connection for the seat belt warning. Passenger side has no such wiring. 4 bolts, pull the seat, done!

Comparison shot with Corbeau GTS II in the drivers position and stock passenger seat. The Corbeau GTS II is both taller and sits a little more forward than the stock seat. If you are a tall guy you should probably get the "seat shave" option that will lower your seating position. I'm short (5'6") with proportionally short legs so this isn't an issue.

    Both installed:

Much more supportive, inflatable lumbar seems nice but I haven't done a long drive yet. Much higher bolsters so I anticipate if I keep the truck another 12 years I'll have to reupholster the drivers side bolsters. Leather is probably what I'd call a mid-range quality but feels good, I am satisfied with the price vs quality of leather that I've gotten.

I do miss the ability to in one action slide the seat forward and fold the seat forward at the same time that the stock buckets allow.

    Very nice! I am jealous.
Just go to the build section and tell everyone they have a nice truck. And find your regional BS thread and just BS. You'll hit 50 in no time.

I'd guess about an inch taller, maybe inch and a half. The stack height of the adapter bracket + sliders is what does it.

As far as fore/aft it's probably a click or two closer to the wheel but not a problem unless you are already slid all the way back in the stock seats.

Don't have my stock seats to compare so this is all guesstimation.

I will say the seats are a world better after they've been broken in. We're on our way back from Wyoming to Austin after a climbing trip and I feel a lot better hopping out of the truck after 12 hour stints than I did in the stockers.

My LG1 seats are doing excellent after 6 months but the drivers side low seat bolster because it's so tall will collapse because you drag your ass over it each time you get in and out, it's ok I can live with it.
The backs flip forward and backwards and tracks work great with no issues.
Installation was very easy, no modifying needed, center console did not need to be
    modified.
These seats sit lower than the GTS and are not as big giving you more room
for your feet and more head room. They are not a suspension seat. They hug you like a glove and going around corners is fun again as you don't slide around at all
as your being held tight by the seat.
I had 4 runner seats in before, with these seats I
have 2" more head room and an 1 to 1.5" more leg room

looks pretty sweet. Maybe a little big for the cab for me. I have a long torso and nearly hit the headliner with my head already.

Do you still have your bucket seats? I am looking to replace my bench with stock buckets. I'm from Tx too so I would be willing to buy.

I had the 4 runner seats in there before but I just tossed them in the trash, I would have given them away for free

If you can swing the LG1 seats, they are total awesome seats and fit like a glove around you

They are holding up great. My wife is annoyed about the side bolsters making getting in and out a little harder than if they weren't so deep but I like them. Inflatable lumbar still functional. I will say you should make sure the seat tracks are perfectly parallel when you install to make sure they slide easily forward and aft. Maybe it's due to the dual locking option but it's definitely higher effort than the stock slide.

    The biggest downsides are:
    1. The wedge bracket and slider raises the seating position, if you are taller you might want to do the shaved cushion option. I'm 5'6" so it's not a big deal.

    2. They don't auto tumble forward when you slide forward like the stock seats so accessing things in the back is a 2-step process. May not be an issue in a single cab or a double cab.

Truck is now out of my possession but still in the family.

My LG1 s. are doing great, I did have the bolster on the drives side lower seat shaved down and reinforced because the bolster will collapse on the lower seat because you drag your butt over it all the time.

My seats flip forwards with no issues

They hug the heck out of you,

I gained 2” head room because the LG1 are not a suspension seat,

You DONT slide in these seats
