Only time I get nervous is when I see other suspect dogs that need to be on a leash. I hate when I have to step between my Labs and some
borderline aggressive dog. I have no problem slamming the aggression out of a un trained dog. I remember taking my one Lab Sierra down to
the river and some cop stops me and says you know this town has a leash law. So I say okay and proceed to tell Sierra to stay and I walked back
to my truck to get her leash. Walk back and put the leash on and had Sierra hold the leash in her mouth as we continue down to the river to swim.
I swear the cop wanted to flip me off. :luvya:

IMG_0565.jpg So, a shitty story with a very probable positive outcome. So last week my black lab JIMBO had one poop of diarrhea. Wednesday morning it started again and lasted all day and night along with vomiting in the afternoon.....and naturally I left the house for duty Wednesday morning and would be gone for 24hrs. My fiancé cared for him through the night and while on duty I made a appointment at the vet for Thursday but the soonest I could get in was 4pm. I got home Thursday morning to see him still vomiting and figured we'd hang out til his appointment. At 8am he vomited one last time but this time it had blood in it. I called my vet and got him in right away. Every indication to her after tests was a very severe bacterial GI infection and by the time she saw him she felt like he didn't have very much more time. He spent the night classified as intensive care. Today, 100% turn around but they are keeping him tonight just as a precaution. Man he's only five, we share the same birthday, and he's just one awesome dog.....I wasn't prepared to lose him so early. I just visited him and he was so happy. I'm not religious but I'm thanking god my JIMBO is gonna pull through!!!IMG_0563.jpg

JIMBO sounds like he is on a good track to health, and hope he is!! Have run into some serious GI infections with dogs that got into cattle tanks in SD and even drinking water from remote wilderness watershed areas in the North. It can be rough, as you know even fatal. Your both in my thoughts and hope he keeps on the path to recovery.

If we set out a pan for dogs to lick, the goldens give up after about 10 minutes, but the gsd keeps going for another half hour. Dedication!

    Get well, Jimbo!

Because of how my boy looks people often think he is aggressive, but once they see how well behaved he is they change their minds.

The other day i pulled off the highway and parked at a store to let my pup run around for a few minutes... I open the door and point to the grassy field we parked beside... He runs over goes pee and comes right back to me...

I drop my tailgate, point to it and say place. He jumps up into the bed and sits down. I give him some water and then i open the back door and tell him to load up... He jumps in and sits down and i close the door..

Well an older man parked in a truck a couple parking spaces down watched the entire thing. I didn't know he was watching but while I'm closing my tailgate up and getting ready to leave he comes up to me..

The guy says... "When i saw you let that "beast" out of the truck without a leash i thought what the hell, this is gunna be bad! But dammit if he aint the smartest dog i have seen! You wanna sell him?"

I laughed and said, no disrespect meant but sir, you dont have enough money!
