Get out of the city. Tucson is just like Phoenix. North side is nice to far north you get into the in breading. Central is 50/50 with all kinds of wierd home improvements. South side well you might as well be in Mexico. West side is Indian territory east side is cowboy country Phoenix in reverse. Like I said just like Phoenix but it doesn't take you hours to cross the city it takes minutes. Tucson little piece of shit. Phoenix bigger piece. In the end it's all shit. What matters is that you polish your small piece so you can enjoy it. I said get out because I live south east near the base of the santarita mountains. It's getting a little crowded but still quite.

In the neverending effort to keep my Tacoma ready for the mall I am cleaning up my Avid sliders. They are scraped, rock chipped, sand-blasted, and a little bit rusty. I just got the driver side skid cleaned up, ready for primer.

I think I removed half a pound of dead paint, does this qualify for a MPG increase tax break?

Lived in the valley of the rincon mountains in Vail. Loved it. Tucson has its problems but so does every city.

I used to live way out west, but 40 minute commute each way was killing me. So we bought a house near Speedway and Kolb, the neighborhood is super quiet and doesn't have any real crime. We generally avoid South Tucson and most places South of 22nd. We're polishing our little piece. As soon as our other house sells, this one is going to get a complete pool renovation so we can enjoy what's left of summer.

So who in here knows about painting sliders? Mine have been painted once as good as I could, touched up once, and now I have then sanded down to remove scrapes and scratches to about 20% bare steel the rest feathered out primer and paint. So I need a capable primer and a durable top coat. Since these are welded on I want brush on paint. I did spray once, masked up to the windows and have been cleaning off over-spray for 2 years. not again.

Bed liner? Its fairly tough, not too expensive to roll on yourself and its really easy to touch up in the future.

Anyone with pro comps have custom center caps? The ones I have are in the picture but I'm looking for something flat with maybe TOYOTA or TRD etched on them. Or even just plain blank covers. I just hate these center caps that are on there now.

Don't really dig the textured look, but may give it a try. First I need to primer the bare steel to promote adhesion. I think I will get some Rustoleum clean metal primer on there tomorrow, and then the 'liner or paint top coat when something grabs me. That primer is flat white color, should look odd on the sliders with my dark green truck. Could pimp it out and go bronze ad do the front and rear plate bumpers too. That would raise my mall rating for sure!
