This could be crazy but .... just lifted and put 285/70 17s on and removed front flaps due to rubbing . Is there any kind of floppy flap or semi floppy flap that can be used on the front ? Already after 100 miles can hear rocks dinging off my doors and rockers

Plasticolor are probably as low profile as it get for a flap

Just installed the 9x15's...the same way and it took 15 mins. All 4 flaps ended up measuring 7" from bottom of fender flare to bottom of mud flap,

Just removed my husky and installed plasticolor. I used the husky to get the mounting holes just need to get a few self tap screws in on the inner sides.

I noticed some marks on my plasticolor from my exhaust. Did I hang mine too low or is this common?

I got the same flaps. Still hear rocks pinging off the rocker panels.. so annoying. Guess the only real way to stop it is to probably get sliders or steps

When I drove from Miami to Alaska, the constant speed and wind caused my flaps to have a bent stance. Looked like the truck was in motion without moving lol. Maybe they bent back and hit the exhaust?

Yeah, that's what happened. I'm wondering if that is normal or if I hung the flap too low

Strange, my rears are perfectly straight and don't touch the exhaust, but I'm using the shorter versions of the Plasticolors. The front ones on the other hand, are what tacofister said, "moving" while standing still. LOL. They're also the short ones. I'm thinking I have to replace and reposition them later out of the airstream behind the tires a bit. They're quite curly now and I've only had them a couple of months.

The only time I didn't hear the pinging of stones and small rocks were when the stock steps were on, but those don't get the clearance I needed and the mounting brackets would hang up on stuff too easily. You could always do those filler step plates with the sliders. Should help a bit. My rocker panels on the underside are pretty pitted now, more so than my front bumper or grille.

I put mud flaps on mine a couple weeks after I got it, I drive into a construction site everyday that is all gravel and my tires just kick them up constantly, they have really protected the rockers..

Mine are still straight and no issues with rocks hitting quarter panels. Guess i got lucky with my install. No problem with exhaust

Haha. Definitely installed mine incorrectly. Time to get a new exhaust so I can protect my mud flap.

Maybe you can use like black JB weld or something to attach a metal rod down the front of the mud flap to make it more rigid. these things are super flimsy, for good reason though. Doubt these will rip off when off-roading..

I'm going to try moving them further up. I used my husky as a guide for the bolt holes and am pretty sure I lined it up against the flat side instead of the curved side. I probably should get off my ass and fix but it's too Damn hot.

After going to Rally Armors website, I noticed there are not any mud flaps for the Tacomas. Which did you go for?

It's the universal ones. Haven't got them yet. I'm waiting on RokBlokz to get back to my email. I made a mistake and posted in this thread after someone linked me here. I believe the ones from RallyArmor are these ones here: RallyArmor Mudflaps
Didn't mean to revive an old thread, just wasn't paying attention to where I replied. My bad :(
Guess I could have just started posting here anyways, lol... whatever. It's TW. New threads for everyone!

Here is the thread I started: RokBlokz
