Wife is getting me new tires for my birthday and I've narrowed it down to two options. The Falken Wildpeak at3w or the Hankook Dynapro ATM. Either way I will be getting them in 265/70 17 on stock suspension. Any suggestions or preferences of one over the other?

I've never had Dynapros, but I have the Falkens on my diesel and they are great tires. They're quiet on the highway, good price, good warranty. The only thing that annoys me sometimes is their tread pattern is a small rock magnet. They hold more rocks than any other AT or MT I've ever used.

I haven't really looked, but the reason I'm looking at the Dynapro is that they come in a p rated 265/75r16. I don't want to be lugging ten plys around at this time

I talked to a 2nd gen owner and shop manager at Pep Boys the other day and asked about the Falkens. I didn't know much but he said he hasn't heard good things about the new AT3's. He's got a set of 285 KO2's, loves them to death and suggested those. Definitely more expensive, i like to save pennies when i can but tires is something i dont. Seen too many blow outs. Not to throw another wrench in your decision but they are highly touted on TW.

I've been nothing but impressed with my AT3Ws. They've gotten slightly louder (still quiet though) as they've aged but the ride is and has been downright pleasant. Can't speak good or bad about the ATMs other than I think the AT3Ws look better, which is subjective of course.

I have the AT3W, it's great tire. I have about 7k miles on them and couldn't be happier with the performance. I have pout them thru just about everything in the last 9 months. Zero complaints. IMG_0068.jpg

The falken is a great tire. Grippy, quiet on pavement and great in the dirt. Coworker has the hankooks and he likes them.

At this point get whatever one looks better to you

Ended up ordering the Falkens. Got discount tire to price match an online listing I found. $615 out the door.

I have the Dynapros, been very happy with them. I considered both as well, but went with the Dynapro because they are significantly lighter. Tire weight is 38.6lbs (Dynas) vs 46.5lbs (Falken).
