    This got interesting quickly.

So I can afford my payments and I do make decent money as some have pointed out, otherwise I wouldn't have gotten the loan. This post was more of 'should I be affording my truck and what are my options for not having to worry about it any more'

My truck is loaded and I didn't get raped as some others have pointed out. I think I did ok, I may have paid a little too much for the cap but it was also loaded with remote keyless, flip down windows and LED lights.

I can afford this truck, and I will be keeping it, I am just questioning the decision to spend so much on a vehicle, as I've never done spent this kind of money on a vehicle before.

Reading this forum has helped though, I have gained perspective.

I fully financed the truck because putting 10k down only saved me like 600$ in interest over the life of the loan. 2% 60mo is a good loan, and because it was a credit union check I was able to finance the entire purchase.

Oh well that is good news. Pull this thread back up next time you go to buy a vehicle to get a few member berries.

kinda find it hard to believe you got a 2% rate with nothing down. got 2.6 with 10k down. But if you did I agree with that decision. Better to have the cash.

I agree. I have perfect credit and best I could get from my credit union is 2.45.

I know, I know, different truck, but just got 1.99 through credit union on 45k, even before the CU knew about the vehicle I purchased, 17 f-150 Lariat. Yes I still have my 07 Taco. Traded in a 13 Pilot fo 19k and financed 35k, msrp for the Ford was 58k~, got discounts. It's all possible :alien:

Financing $35k on a truck that stickers for $58k makes the loan to value ratio 60% so there is a lot of equity in the truck and the risk is low for the credit union.
It can be hard to get a sub 2% interest rate when you are financing 100-110% of the MSRP on a vehicle but it does happen and will agree if you can get that rate don't put anything down.

Credit unions are great, but this time I used an online source I found at bankratedotcom and made out better than my credit union would do, and my loan officer was drooling to give me another loan from them.

Ford wanted me to do 60 or 72 month financing to get there "special" discounts. Was so much easier through CU, a couple discounts, and finesse. They even tried playing the old "we've got another buyer lined up" deal with me, BS.

Sell your truck, take a bath, buy a new Frontier and have some extra $ in your pocket.

Even with a personal friend who was selling it to me, the head honcho fought with him over pricing, it was even cheaper to do CU instead of my friends X-plan through Ford.

He already stated later on he can...
Let me take part of that back, if it indeed is offered with a 4cly diesel, then it is worth something to someone, but it would be a shame to see nissan drop displacement below 4.0

I feel ya man 100%. My last vehicle was a 2006 Civic Si I bought new. Drove that car for almost 11 years and didnt have a car payment for almost 6 years....I was definitely scared to jump into another loan...especially a $35k+ loan. You sound like you love your truck and are just feeling some sticker shock.

    You got this OP!!
