Cheers. At least I feel a little relief. I am an engineer, and if I don't speak up, I explode....

So what is the fender to Hub measurement people are getting that say they have 3" of lift I ask this because the 2nd gen at 3" is like 23" Hub to fender but on the 3rd gen if you went up 3" from stock you would be at 24" since it sits higher in the travel range from gen2 so that's technically a 4" lift and would have no down travel left so only 2" from stock is still a 3" lift correct? Which would be 23" Hub to fender

So here's a silly question from a non-mechanical engineer that's still an engineer.

Ultimately all of those parameters need to be kept within some sort of "safe range" to work. Each truck is going to have some slight mechanical tolerances depending on how they were assembled.

Toyota offers us a TRD Pro model featuring a highly touted suspension system including a lift up front, but, to the best of my knowledge still utilizes all other OEM parts / points (LCA/UCA/etc). Unless there's an alternate alignment (which average alignment shop No. 2495B wouldn't have), it would appear Toyota doesn't correct for the lift.

So, while I completely understand the need for that to build the perfect suspension setup, is the range of ride heights on these truck as far as parameters wide enough to allow for some lift and an "acceptable" suspension geometry. I'm not trying to discount that all the items you mentioned need to be looked at, because they do, it's more just a rhetorical question, or maybe to someone who is familiar with the limitations / design basis for OEM suspension systems.

    What's your thoughts?

Apologize to the OP for going OT.

I'm vastly informed when it comes to most of this but if I were to hazard a guess in regards to Toyota having a TRD suspension I would say that's probably strongly why it only lifts the an inch higher because there is much less compensating having to be done.

My reply meant to say I'm vastly misinformed but good thing it turns out I was actually right

Hey, @Spewed what size tire? I didn't think you put a lift on that truck and yet those look like 285's! Nice, real nice!

Btw there was minimal rub on the mud flaps. Removed mud flaps and no rub at all now. Did some light off roading today. Nothing major

I got a similar kit from headstrong but with the ome in the front and 3 leaf pack. Just put the front end on today. Gonna work on the back tomorrow then tires. No issues with the original UCA right? They look so close to rubbing just the original 265/70's. Plus I haven't had time to flex my suspension yet but I'm looking at 3.5 inches lift in the front as it sits now. Hope it comes down a good inch.

No issues at all with the original UCAs. It's not usually necessary to change them unless you're going wider than 285 or higher than 3 inch lift. I have 285/75/16 no rubbing. I did have to remove the front mud flaps but that's all. I got the single leaf for the rear and it's perfectly level.
