I did the same, ARE MX topper with sliders with zero offset and a fair amount of weight in the back. Firestone Air Bags and Daystar cradles although still stock tires. And been able to make it through quite a few rough places every fall hunting on the North Shore of Lake Superior.

I have had one shock fail but have the extended warranty. 34k miles but over 3 years old. I'll wait until the extended warranty has expired until I do any changes to the suspension. I'd keep it stock until you take it out a few times and see what you think about it. Lot of washboard dirt roads where I live and the basically factory setup I have now has handled them better than any other vehicle I have owned. So I don't have a strong desire to change anything. And handles decently in the snow which I have a lot of experience with here LOL.

I have a 2012 Baja. Does the front lift come from the coils alone or a combination of coils and shocks? Both my front shocks were leaking so I replaced with 5100's at the .85" setting thinking this would give me just under 3" of front lift. It looks to me like if anything I lost some height in the front. Was I wrong in thinking that the baja springs provided the 2" lift? I may end up buying ome 885 and setting the 5100's at 0.

Here is our most off road capable Tacoma ever. With tires that should never leave dry pavement and side steps that will be ripped off if you do.

How are we any different from the jeep guys? Besides we are smarter than to buy a shitty jeep that gets a check engine light everytime you breathe on it funny. We buy tacomas and mod the hell out of them. Tacomas are pretty capable trucks right out of the box. Kinda hard to match that kind of performance off-road.

I believe the entire TX Baja coilover assembly was supposed to gain approximately 1.75" of lift compared to the stock TRD suspension.

The Baja coilovers are more comparable to the Bilstein 6112's, not the 5100's.

Just seems like it was a waste to buy the higher-end Tacoma, have the shocks leak on you, and then go down to 5100's.

I could be totally wrong and I definitely don't know your personal circumstances; but if you're going to change out the Baja suspension, why not match or improve the performance?

The Bajas and Pros of the 2nd gen came with BFG KOs, Jeep Rubicons (and other trims) come with BFG MTs, Raptor K02s, ZR2 Duratracs, Power Wagon Duratracs and the Rebel has Toyo AT2s. Hell, you can even get a Cherokee with Firestone Destination ATs.

The current Tacoma Pro is the only "top end" 4x4 for sale that I can think of that comes with highway tires. Even the 4Runner Pro comes with Terra Grapplers. While they are not great tires, they are at least an AT tire. If I am dropping $45k on a "off road ready" truck, another $1200 in tires 4 days later shouldn't be part of the experience and further adds to the TRD OR + Mods argument.

I had the kos on my truck for all of 24 miles before I used the employee tire trade in at my old job and got a set of destination mts for 28 bucks.

I'm kinda surprised it's not even more...

Yeah do people just not know you can get functional sliders that double as steps for not much more $$ than body mount benders?

Hey guys...I got a set of used rear Baja shocks. One was replaced about 5k miles ago, other is about 75k. Just looking to help someone out if they need some replacement shocks as they are just taking up space in my closet.
