IMG_0660.jpg arrived home from work yesterday and something caught my eye when closing truck door. Take a look at pic of bottom of driver's door and let me know your thoughts.

The paint issue is from cab front to back of bed on both sides.

I washed the truck one time (3 weeks ago) w basic car wash soap - nothing else. No wax or anything else.

Can't decide if I possibly ran over something or if the issue was deliberate in origin.

I've had the truck for 5 weeks now.

    Geesh!

To me looks like the added factory paint protection, pretty standard on most vehicles nowadays!!!! It is in the painting process not stuck on vinyl.

^^^ This. I believe it's dependent on the state you're in, but it's on a lot of Tacomas, and is supposed to be that way. I'm in CO, and all of them here have it (mine included).

I have that thicker band on the lower section of my truck. Figured it's normal

Are you talking about the scratches or blotchy paint?

Thanks, everyone, for your replies! I'll take my issue radar off hyper-sensitive mode and go back to my cave.

    Again, THANKS!!!!

The orange peel texture is normal - meant to be thicker and protect better from rock impacts and such.

Completely normal. I freaked out when I saw mine too. I though it was sun damage or something.
