    Frank, It may be misleading because I said "back roads", but in west Texas "back roads" are marked at 75 mph so I was getting around 17 mpg. Coming from a Corolla at 30+ mpg is an adjustment.
    Alfred, it is the Mescalero Sands North Dune OHV Area in New Mexico. I'd never heard of it but saw it on the map when I was doing a route reconnaissance the night before the drive. It was conveniently located about 40 miles east of Roswell along my route.
    Tejas, I was actually working with Jeff for the first 3-4 months. He and his team are great but they couldn't get the truck. That's why I went out of the Gulf States region to NM.
