Front diff drop kit needed????!!

The write up is why I am not taking that kind of risk on a $40,000 truck too gain 1/2 inch of axle angel.Too each his own.You dont need too be a racer either too hit a rock that could do damage like on the write up O.Ps truck,just regular off road driving could do it.

To me, that means nothing. He's throwing around numbers and calculations to sound smart and confuse people. I'm going to have a diff drop protected underneath a nice, smooth 3/16" steel skid plate. If you don't want one, that's great, but there is still no evidence to support either side of the argument.

 

Oh duh, I forgot about just sliding the boot down and re-clamping it. No diff drop for me.

Picture a 1 ton truck hitting a deer at 80mph and running it over. Well maybe it's not that bad, just a Tacoma that rolled like 5 or 6 times at a high rate of speed.

To be completely honest, I removed mine because I purchased Pelfrey skids. I had a dd for over 20K in my Truck with no problems at all.

 

Unnecessary in a 2nd gen, how about a 3rd?
