I've had my 2017 Tacoma TRD Pro for about a month and a half and I figured I would join the forum! So far, I absolutely love everything that this truck has to offer although I'm still in the honeymoon phase. This is my first Toyota and my first truck, although my family has owned several trucks over the years. I've always wanted a truck and I wanted a manual transmission so the Tacoma seemed like the best choice.

Anyhow, about the truck. I fell in love with the cement color although I was originally looking to buy a quicksand TRD Off Road Taco. I spent an entire day calling different Toyota dealers in a 300 mile radius to find this truck with a manual, and I got lucky and found one that was allocated but did not have a deposit on it. It was literally being built in Texas on the day I called the dealer to inquire about it! Four weeks later, it was in my driveway before I could even sell my current car (which is still not sold lol).

My only gripe thus far is that the truck came with the Toyota 5" chrome step bars (WHY????) and I wanted the Predator step bars, so I had to pay the $530 for step bars I cannot/won't be using. They literally were installed at the Tacoma plant and were removed by the dealership before I took ownership of the truck. I'm sure the marketplace is a better place to sell the bars, but if you're interested, feel free to shoot me a PM :)

Yes, it came with chrome steps... and I HAD to take them with me :(

The sales lady also didn't understand why it was ordered with those chrome bars. I just want to sell them so I can get a tonneau cover.

That really made the truck hard to find. I could find quicksand 6MT Tacomas fairly easy but I had a helluva time finding the TRD Pro in Cement with the manual trans.

Thank you! Yeah, the dealership sent me the window sticker and I immediately said they need to order different bars for the TRD. I don't know how it got ordered that way but it was really the only bad part of the entire deal. The dealership was awesome and was transparent through the entire ordering/delivery process, and I got to visit some of my extended family while picking up my new truck :)
