What onboard air unit are you running, where did you mount it? I'm thinking behind the passenger/driver rear seat (60/40 split) on my double cab.

Just got a waterport and finding it runs out of pressure faster than it runs out of water. I'm going to fix this with onboard air and a regulator set to a specific PSI

Are there any compressors that have an auto shut-off when a particular PSI is reached, or do I have to plumb in a regulator that has some fancy relay to cut power to the rocker switch to keep it so I don't have to manually shut off the compressor while I'm using the waterport

If this isn't making sense what I'm talking about I will explain in a couple hours, just starting work soon

I went with an ARB Twin on a Slee bracket. The ARB compressors have a built in 150 psi regulator

150psi would probably blow up the waterport o_O
    Can it be adjusted?

True, but I was looking for portability. I've got two Huskies and in the summer with all our camping gear I need something I can quickly remove and take to the lake to refill. The waterport by itself through the group buy at $100ish fit the bill nicely. I made my own mount yesterday at work for free and saved basically $100 extra

Sure, with a down stream regulator.

My air compressor runs to a 3 gallon air tank in my bed and then I regulate off of the tank with a cheap harbor freight regulator

This is most excellent. I will show this to my wife and convince her we need onboard air haha. (Need it for the ARB lockers I'm saving for anyway)

Would you mind posting a few pictures of your setup please? I'm still reading through the master post that @Drainbung posted earlier.

After using the waterport this morning... I only managed to wash my hands and hair as well as my wife (long hair priorities...) I've decided the waterport is great for around town with the dogs or a quick day trip, but this onboard water system you linked me to is most likely going to be my next purchase. That is a really slick kit!

    Thanks for the link

You won't use your water port after you get the @ProForce version of on board water. You might, however, use the tank portion of the waterport to use with your new system. I wish I could find a similar type of tank to mount and use with the on board water system. I would jump on ordering the ProForce version ASAP. They are selling out quick and it takes a bit of time between rounds to generate enough interest to get him to order parts for the next round.

Good to know. What are you thinking? Proforce pump into the waterport and use the waterport as both the water inlet and outlet? (It comes with a Y splitter and the one I bought has a threaded connection on the top as well as the side)

Use the waterport as your "source of water"
And when near creeks etc use that.

I have 2 wateports mounted on my prinsu with 2 1/4" airlines ran to the side of the rack for easy repressureization. I find one tank lasts me and a friend a weekend trip washing hands and dishes, maybe a single few minute shower. But usually still has close to half a tank of H2o and no pressure.

Having it mounted higher does help with gravity usage once tank loses pressure.

Yeah but by simply disconnecting the pump from the port then the port is a water source on its own, whereas if you don't want to drill holes in the box for the two brass quick connects that mount into the box, then you don't have to, just put them both on the waterport itself.

The pump fills the waterport and you plug your hose into the other connector for your shower or dishes or whatever.

Or am I talking out my ass...? Lol sometimes when I have something in my head I don't convey the idea correctly through text, does the above make sense?

No, I was more thinking keeping the pump mounted in the truck cubby and just using the waterport tank mounted with the inlet hose from proforce's system going into it..

That must be a killer setup!

Also, once someone told me I SUCK at quoting on threads... I think they meant I quote the entire message instead of just the short snippet I'm specifically responding to... If this bothers you, I'm sorry... But I will not change ;p

Yes, using the pumpp periodically to pressurize the waterport and have your hose with nozzle on the other for shower /dishes.
