Hahahahaha I guesssss. The only reason I did it was so eventually when I got a bumper I wouldn't have to relocate them. I'll look around tho for something better to fill the slots.

Hey man! Trucks looking good. Ive had my dual arb sitting in the garage for the past month because I dont know where to put it as I have abs, cruise, and the stupid ass emission box up front. I like your idea where its out of the elements but i was curious if you knew if the pos wire was long enough to reach the battery from that compartment? And you just grounded the big 10 gauge wire in the compartment?

Also, did you use the provided bolts and come from underneath the truck and screw them in or were longer ones necessary?

Thanks! No the positive is not long enough. I had a bunch of 8ga lying around though and ran it to the combined positive wires from the circuit break in the engine compartment. The negative is grounded in that compartment using a longer bolt to hold the flip up cup holder so I could put a nut on the other side. I went to Fastenal and got stainless steel bolts and nylon spacers for the length and spacing I needed. I can't remember what I used off the top of my head though. Hopefully that helps.

When you say Prinsu Rack are you talking Cabrac or Toprac?

When you layout the template the way I did, you have full access to drill the holes from inside the cab. The holes towards the inside will be right above the frame though. Here's the link for the post with the install.

    Both...

I started putting everything together in the garage. Then I put the bars with the feet onto the tracks and loosely tightened everything down.

    IMG_20170621_224631.jpg
    IMG_20170624_170944.jpg

Then lifted the rest of the rack on and bolted it loosely to the crossbars.

    IMG_20170624_180737.jpg

The front was a little tricky because PrinSu intends the cabrac to attach directly to the cab. However, since I had tracks and didn't want to put more holes in my roof, I opted to get mounting feet for the front and mount it like the rear. The front feet have nylon spacers to lift the rack to a level height.

Damn that looks good! We should be twinning later this year when I snag my topper rack. But I don't need it any time soon so I'll wait for a sale or something

    Thanks!

Today was pretty chill as far as work goes so I spent a good part of the day arranging things on the rack and then bolting them down.

First was the awning, properly mounted this time!
    IMG_20170626_163547.jpg

Then to add the gas and CO2, which will both eventually go on a swing out. I don't want one but I can't argue with it's usefulness. Then I mounted a Plano case for recovery gear and tools, as it's fairly common now. And last to be mounted was my bicycle track.

    IMG_20170626_185401.jpg
    IMG_20170626_194825.jpg

Last items to mount are the waterport tank, my hi lift jack, and amber flashers. More to come!

Got the waterport up today with a pair of super quick fists and mounted the hi lift with some new hardware I picked up. The brackets and rear flashers are mounted and I just have to wire them up tomorrow after I adjust my preload with the rig loaded now.
