Anyone go with the screen window in the back? How is this working with dogs in the back?

Thanks for the offer. Still trying to figure out the right combination. Would like to plan on a rack over the topper at some point.

For those with the front window how do you keep it from caving in while driving? It doesn't go all the way in, but how do you secure it closed?

I'm glad I went with a Softopper instead of a hard shell. I've already loaded plenty of stuff in the bed and the ability to just fold up the sides and back have made it more ideal than a hard shell. I still have yet to mount the front and rear windows, but it has been holding on strong with just the rear screen attached.

Yeah I have to agree with the above.....the ability to roll up all the sides...or even just one side depending on which way the wind is blowing from has been great for camping out of the back. I absolutely love mine!!

Anyone have a low profile/mid height bed rack under their Softopper? I know I've seen a pic somewhere but can't find it.

Will softopper from an 2nd gen long bed fit a 2nd DCSB? Was thinking of just buying short bed rails and using the topper from a long bed.

Thought so. Was hoping I wouldn't have to buy a new topper for the DCSB.

Looks solid. What do you generally use it for? I was thinking of making some type of raised platform for stowing a spare tire/additional gear.

You can use it for anything. These are the 80/20.net extrusions. Specifically the 1020. You can get thicker ones if you need more weight capacity.

Current configuration is I put some totes up there.

Put the topper on a few days ago before a big rain. Day before install I opened the canvas and seam sealed every stitch I could find. I live in Alaska on the coast and it's pretty wet here. Few days later after a night of rain I found water in the very front corners of the cab? All seems we're dry. Anyone else having a hard time keeping water out? I'm actually thinking its coming from the bed itself in the front corners. I can see light where the truck bed insert meats the metal part of the truck. Just curious if people are seeing good water prevention with these.

Also. Anyone put the Velcro restraint on the tailgate? This seems like it could have a negative impact on the paint on tailgate. Anyone have experience with this?

You will want the Velcro there. It helps keep the last bit of fabric from flapping at speed. I hesitated as well, but it's better with it on.

Keep adjusting the front, you should be able to keep all water out. A little dribble of water might still occur.
