Notice how the bezel around the fogs are "3 sided", on the side toward the center of the truck...?? I was of the impression that the US models were all Straight sided. Maybe it's a "model" thing..??

All CDN trucks I've seen are 3-sided....!! Go figure..!!

I thought all US trucks were like this one...

It's kinda nice to be able to see individual tire pressure.

Mine does not show any tire pressure unfortunately. Perhaps this feature is not availible on trucks with manual transmissions.

I don't think TPMS is available on manual transmissions in Canada. I was surprised by that....

This guy complains about it in his review video :canada:

The 3rd gen TRD OR, in stock form, does really well off road. If you ignore the benefits you might get from a lift, or more aggressive tires, the tuning of the suspension and the traction control system is awesome. The truck feels very stable, and has a great ride even in the rough stuff. Recently, I descended a very, very steep hill and was actually happy to have Crawl Control. Turns out it's not just a gimmick, but a safety feature. All in all, this is why I bought a Tacoma. You need a smaller truck for most off-road/overland adventures where I live in the BC woods, and the 3rd gen Tacoma feels like it belongs off-road, moreso than any other 4WD I've owned or driven.

Other than that most important point, here's some other things I like:

-Truck has lots of power when you need it, and is reasonably fuel efficient when you don't.

-Styling is best ever effort on any pickup ever (IMHO). The truck just looks great.

-I like the feel of the shift lever for the AT.

-interior does not look or feel tacky (except for glovebox door)

    -good stock headlights, especially high-beams.

    - good highway handling and ride

    -great stock stereo (TRD level)

-proper, long, mud flaps for people who drive a lot of gravel roads.

    - hand operated E-brake.

I understood from other TW members here that the Hilux actually hovers above ground and is not capable of getting stuck ;)

I like that its so capable offroad out of the box. It's been a gateway drug for me to the world of offroading. I like that I can get 33" mud tires on it without having to get a suspension first. I like that I can keep up with comparably outfitted 2nd gens on trails with ease. I like how the front end looks (minority). I like how much stuff there is to tweak and mod on it. I like that I could get a higher trim level tacoma with a stick. I like the stick. I like the color.

My first 4x4 vehicle... and we got a good amount of snow for where I am this year. Had a few wonderful days where the horrendous traffic was gone due to the snow and I could get around great, even up the mountains without chains.

Love being able to get out to hikes and hunts up very long logging roads in the back country with ease.

I was a little worried about space inside but i'm not tall and the back seat is actually a little bigger than I thought it would be.

Gas mileage improved after about 4000 miles.

Has been even a little better than what I anticipated based on the research I did. Happy I was able to get one so early.
