I'm definitely leaning towards the Demer. It seems like a really good piece, and made in the USA :oldglory:. I typically try to buy from small companies when I can.

I like that you can store things in it and lock it with a padlock. That'll make it nice for the beach as well.

Was given a UE Boom, which sounded great from any bluetooth device.

Then was persuaded to update the firmware to work with the UE Apple equalizer app. It now sounds like crap on any device that does not use an equalizer. Wish I could go back to the old firmware. Makes it almost useless now.

So, I Facebook messaged a rep from Demerbox last night to ask them when they might get more colors in stock. They got back to me within minutes, even though it was almost 10pm. They said it'd be around 6 weeks for the out of stock colors to start shipping, but offered me a totally refurbished black demo unit for half price. I couldn't turn that down, so it's on it's way. I'll update with a review after I use it on our annual beach/fishing trip.

Walmart has these on clearance for $29 to $59, depending on the store. Depending on store stock; sold out online.

I wound up with a Demerbox. Got a demo model for half price. I've used it for 3 days on one charge, charged my phone, and stored all my crap in it. Sounds great, and its practical. I'm 100% happy with the purchase.IMG_6281.jpg

Where'd you find the demo model?

I messaged them on Facebook to see when they thought they'd get colors other than USCG orange in. They told me it'd be a few weeks, but that they had a demo model in black that they'd be willing to sell at a discount. The speakers and battery had been changed out, and all that was worn was the back of the case. It's really brand new with a couple light scratches on the back. Works perfect, and they're still giving me a year warrantee.

Shoot, if you even cared, a little quality rattle can paint would take care of the scratches. That's an awesome deal!

I sanded it with some 400 grit and hit it with some protectant. Looks like brand new. Maybe down the road, if I get bored, I'll tape it off and camo it.
