SAS 3rd Gen

Seems like this may be the first swap to my knowledge! Been following it for a while and thought I would share since it's something I would like to do with my future truck.

It is bro'd out though. Still badass

 

not too sure whats going on with the rear suspension

 

front looks like a trailgear axle with a 3 link setup

 

As neat as that is, I just can't wrap my head around someone spending that much money on something that'll never get used to anything near it's potential.

 

I was wondering if he was still working on that. Cool to see him get it done.

im trying to figure out why someone would put that much effort to SAS then put those mall crawling wheels and tires. Would have been better to do a front diff drop.

I kept wondering when I'd see an SAS'd 3rd gen and almost started a thread a few times to see if I just missed it. It's cool, but pretty sad that all that SAS stuff went into a bro'd out truck. I mean, to each his own, but still... the potential if they kept it lower and put on 37's or 40's on a better rim size...

 

Decides to be the first to sas a 2016. Makes it completely incapable of going off road in the process.

 

It's like a triangulated 4 link, but they put the top links in the back so they can keep the stock gas tank. Not ideal, but it works if the geometry is right. Finding space for everything and keeping it low is the biggest challenge of SASing a Tacoma. If you're building a show truck and want it sky high, then it's much easier.

 

There is a forklift tine under the trailer hitch. Looks like they are checking the droop on the rear suspension.

Cool that they did an SAS on a third gen but it is a little mini BRO dozer for my taste.
