I don't have a tacoma anymore but wanted a place to post this and like the layout of the forum. I've been messing around with this truck for a couple months. My goal is to have an awesome looking truck that I can throw the dogs in and go hunting and not have to worry about scratches etc. I currently have it taken appart down to the frame to clean off grease, dirt, and rust. I'm going to repaint everything, rewire the entire truck, replace lights with LED, OME shocks, new wheels and tires. Hopefully will have something special at the end. We call it paw patrol because it's for the dogs and my wife and I found out we were pregnant with our first the day after I bought it lol

THe pics attached are day I brought it home, puppy dog GSP -Scout in the truck, a sample of all the interesting wiring (rat nest not shown) and current status

I gotta say that your title "paw patrol" baited me in lol I have a 2 1/2 year old that loves the cartoon on Nick Jr channel. Anyway you got yourself an interesting project in your hands.

    Sub'd for a cool build

Here are a few pics of finished frame.
I used grinder to remove all the years of grit grime and surface rust and repainted. I think it looks pretty good. And with tub and floor reinstalled. I used a bed liner coating for the bottom of body and floor in truck. Got shifter boots on the way. Getting ready to paint

Nice. Reminds me of my FJ40 that needs way more work than this. Old school wheelers are so cool!

Oh man, that thing is so sweet. I've always wanted a patrol. I can't wait to see it with those wheels and tires. Keep the pics coming and, as Steves said, thanks for posting!

Gotta love those short hairs! Can you run fast enough and long enough to wear the dog down to half speed?

Oh, nice project and keep posting.

Lol not even close. She just goes and goes until she falls asleep. She's a sweetheart though. That's Scout my GSP, Molly my Golden, and Millie by buddies Drathaar.

    Thanks!
Hoping to have time to get some stuff done his weekend. Getting tires put on wheels in the morning. Hopefully can finish up the frame, put new shocks on, and be ready for wiring after the weekend. Seems like the todo list multiplies everyday

Nice collection of dogs. What do you hunt?

I grew up in Iowa hunting pheasant and quail. Was given a SHP. A man that hunted and had a heart attack, bad enough that he couldn't hunt any longer. She (the dog) was the best bird I had ever hunter with. That is after I figured out that she knew more about hunting and birds than I did or ever would. She'd run a quarter to half a mile away, really frustrating to hunt with her like that. Never saw her flush a bird either. Try as I might I could never break her of running. A lot of the time, when she was off doing the running, I'd just sit down and wait for her to find me (she always did). I started paying more attention to what she was doing and finally figured out that she was herding birds back to me. Eureka! Best bird dog ever. Mostly I had to give hunting with others because they couldn't tolerate her style. I almost always limited out. She lived to hunt and mostly used me to take her to her passion. Never lost a downed bird either as she loved to chase and if the bird was dead she'd look at me with a look that said, 'what the hell, you want me to pick it up, it's dead and not going anywhere, YOU come and get it yourself!' Enjoy your dogs!

Man, that is awesome! I love dogs. Molly (2 yrs old) is my wife's dog but as part of obedience training I've taught her the ropes. She's a little gun shy but we are working on it, I think 4th of July fireworks ruined her. I'm not giving up on her she loves it all too much to stay at home. Scout (10 months), much like your story, is ALL talent I'm just trying to harness it lol. I thinks she's gonna be a great hunting dog. We do It all. Snow goose trip once a year, dove, quail and pheasant, and I'm going to give duck hunting a try this year. I want so bad to make it up to your part of the world for wild upland hunting, maybe next year.

Pics are Scout on point in front yard teaching "whoa" command, one of our slower days goose hunting, and Millie in the early morning from a goose hunt earlier this year. I guess I should have made a separate dog thread lol.
