Body extension of running boards vs sliders

    After researching the site, I really like the 2nd gen running boards that folks are installing on 3rd gen Tacoma's. I'll likely never be off-road, so my question is, can someone who has gone from sliders to running boards, or vice versa, tell me which extends further out from the body? It's really hard to tell from pictures. I'm not a big fan of nurf bars.
