Infinity Basslink or Kicker Hideaway or something like it?

To start off, I am a total audio noob.
My old '09 Tacoma had the JBL system with the stock sub-woofer behind the passenger rear seat of my DCSB.
I thought it sounded great.
Now when I upgraded to my '15 TRD PRO, it doesn't have the sub and I am just looking for some bass to sound similar to my '09.
How good (or poor) do the sub/amp combo units like the Infinity Basslink or Kicker Hideaway work? I do not want to spend a lot of money, I just want a little more bass than my stock system provides.
I do not want to switch head units.

Looking for any thoughts or recommendations.

 

I installed a Kenwood and it makes a big difference. There wood doesn't even need to be hooked to the battery, just the fuse box inside the cab. Here's the thread that helped me a lot:
