I am happy that the locks have been sent out... It reaffirms my belief that Dan was not out to screw people over for money - i have never subscribed to that theory, if for no other reason than there are better ways to do that.

I think this thing just dragged on too long and it fell of the priority list, for whatever reason, little comfort to those waiting for their 8520's. But in my mind it is much better than outright fraud...

In any event, i hope someone who receives their 8520 and installs it does an install thread for informational purposes.

note to self - if i ever do a group buy, have the buyers send money directly to the vendor - too much stuff to deal with otherwise...

It is nice to see that these are finally being received. It would also be nice to know if everyone who has been waiting on their locks actually got them.

And, it would be good if Daniel had the cajones to apologize to all of those he has left in waiting for so long. It wasn't entirely your fault Daniel, but when you fuck up, fess up.

Does anybody have the PL8520 installed yet? After a correct installation does it unlock/lock with the doors or is there a separate button?

Jesus H Christ the instructions are horrible.... everyone do yourselves a favor and read the online instructions.... mine were wrong. Went online and still I missed a step. Ended up finishing it up tonight with a bright flashlight crawling under my truck in the dark. Pretty pissed off but it works finally!

For you dbl cab guys up to 07....like my year, pull up the drivers front panel on the floor, you don't need to remove the actual kick panel up front.... tap into the wire loom that leads into your B pillar, it should be pretty clear which loom it is.... the wires are Blue with pink stripe, and blue with black stripe. I just spent 3 hours tearing up wires in my front kick panel where the orig instructions say to locate them....none of them would give me an unlock signal! Finally after I gave up, I went online and saw the instructions there, but they say to remove the b pillar panel!!! These guys are seriously on crack. Take my small advice and go with it, the rest of the install is fairly straight forward. I routed my wires out the tailgate NEAR the bottom because the leads are too big for the drain holes....idiots.

Yes, the tailgate unlocks with the second push on the keyfob, not the first.

Yes. There is plenty of wire to move it to the other side and it works very well with the camera.

So order one. Mine has been on my '09 since they came out and I have been super pleased with it. You don't need a group buy to get one. Do a google search. I got mine from a Canadian ebay vendor.
