So I was thinking about changing out my front bumper on my 2012 DCSB but I have a few questions. I don't want something that will weigh the front end way down so I was looking at aluminum.

Is Aluminum anywhere near as strong as steel, I've read it is just not sure I believe it?
How much less does it weigh than it's steel counterparts?
How much weight am I adding by putting on an aluminum front bumper? I imagine it's all added weight since what I remove has to weight just a few pounds.

I don't think I'm going to put a winch on or anything I just like the bumper look and the protection. Anyone regret going AL?

Aluminess bumper here. If you're not rock-bashing and just want critter protection Al is the way to go.

It'll add about 60-80 pounds to the front depending on the manufacturer. Same as adding a dual battery setup, no suspension upgrade required.

Not as strong as steel and harder to repair in case of a crash, but..

i'm wondering how aluminum is for pulling on recovery points. can you yank on it just like steel?
