I have stock coils, 5100s, spacers, and LR UCAs. 2.5" of total lift. My springs occasionally rub on the UCA. Has anyone else dealt with this?

there is your issue. Too much droop. how big are the spacers?

Had/have the same issue, but hasn't happened since I got an alignment last week...It's either the spacers or your 5100s are set too high. How an alignment seems to have corrected it on my truck, beats me.

changing the snap ring setting on the 5100 will have no effect on amount of droop. Spacers above the tophat of the shock will. The 5100 is already longer than a stock shock (more droop) then when you add spacers above the top hat it is going to droop even more.

As far as alignment effecting the coil hitting or not just take a step back and look. Alignment is done via the LCA only. So the bottom shock mount moves around, yet the UCA and upper shock mount stay stationary, so you could feesably move the shock away from the UCA (by a little amount) during an alignment.

Wouldn't they both affect droop though? Geometrically, any lengthening of the distance between upper and lower shock mounts (snap ring adjustment or spacer) would increase the UCA angle, making it more prone to impacting the coil. Unless I'm missing something.

The length of the shock fully extended does not change when you move the spring seat clip. It is because of the spacers that he has too much down travel and is hitting his spring. I would ditch the spacers and change the spring if you are running out of clip settings.

I hear what you're saying and you are correct about the clip setting not changing extended length. But it does change ride height and that along with the spacer will give you more of a UCA angle. There's only so much farther that the UCA can travel down before hitting the coil.

A proper suspension set up will not hit even on down travel.

    This.
Here is mine in full droop. No where near the springs.

I believe 3/8" on the right side and 5/8" on the left. Never measured droop.

5100s on an otherwise stock suspension have unused travel. Adding spacers allows you to utilize that unused travel. I think nd4spdbh was part of that thread but I could be wrong.

I was at 2.5" setting with no spacers, now at 1.75" setting with spacers. Same amount of lift, more total travel.

I can provide the link later if wanted.

Correct. There is about 1in of unused shock uptravel on a stock setup (bumpstop / lca) with a 5100 with no spacers up top.

BUT if you pair a spacer up top with the 5100 to utilize extra travel you might have issues with binding etc or uca hitting coil. I now my SPC UCA has plenty of clearance for more droop, i just havnt had the time to get things sorted to fully utilize the shock stroke.

Yes, I had the same problem on one side because of how the coil was clocked. Some limit straps fixed the problem. Look at my avatar. PM me if you want a better picture.
