:D I feel a little sheepish for not trying to adjust the seat back. I realize in my current 2011 TRDOR I have the seat adjusted back a bit (not because of headroom). Now I want to go back and at least try it at the dealership. I'll give the option of sticking my head out of the sunroof too
As far as the power seats I agree with mechanical issues being a burden. What I meant to say was a solution for Toyota is to install the seats that pump up and down as some of their cars have.

The taco seat brackets are already sitting on the floor. The much louded legs out driving position ( though it doesn't bother me I guess) means that if the seat isn't low enough for you already, no amount of power or pump anything is going to matter because there isn't anywhere for the seat to go.

All you guys talking ht and headroom......

Don't forget that 2 people the same ht may fit quite differently based on proportions. There can easily be 1-2" difference in inseam, changing torso length, thus headroom.

6' here. No problem with the moonroof for me. A lot of it has to do with seat adjustment. I have about 1.5" clearance up there.

I'm 5'11-6'0 and had a 16 without sunroof and now my 17 with sunroof, I don't really notice a difference, but then again I am currently in lust with my new truck, we are getting pretty serious.

I adjusted the seat recline and it made a pretty good difference. Luckily I don't have back seat occupants often :)

I've had issues with head-room in vehicles with sun/moon roofs. To the point where I generally won't buy a car/truck with one. When I first was looking at the new Tacomas I immediately assumed that a moonroof would be out of the question, but then I sat in one and was pleasantly surprised that I had enough head room, even a little to spare. I'm 6'1", but have a longish trunk so tend to have more headroom issues than someone else my same height might have. I did recline the front seat a little more than I have in some other vehicles, and then just pulled the telescoping steering-wheel to its furthest extent. Very comfortable.

i wanted the moonroof but got a Pro and am happy i did. the rear auto slider gives me the open feeling and circulation i want with no compromise. and i went to a local upholstery shop experienced in it, and had them drop the seating position all the way by carving out more of a bucket from the underside of the foam. it made the seat super comfortable for hours and I'm sitting a little lower now, too. it's perfect. I'm about 6'1 or 6'2".

6'6" here and I have about 1" of headroom with the sunroof. I'm just going to have an upholstery shop shave an inch and a half of foam off of the seat, maybe 2" if that much can be taken without messing with the heating part of the seat. I've read on here that several tall guys have had thus done for under $200

I am 5'_10" and have no issues with headroom, the seat bottom could provide a little better thigh support.

You get used to it. I'm 6'3 but have no problems when the seat is adjusted right. When the gf adjusts the seat, stand by.

I'm 6'3", have the moon roof and haven't noticed issues with headroom. Maybe I have a flat head...:anonymous:

Exactly, "Can't you just put the seat all the way back when you get out"? I guess we know why they get ticked off about the toilet seat!

I'm 6'3 and my wife is 5'11 so the adjustment isn't such a battle on this side but I still have to adjust mirrors, etc. every time. Too bad the Tacoma doesn't have user profiles for the adjustable equipment. Maybe if the 2018 offers power seats they might add that, seems to go with the laziness of America.

How did this work out for you? How much did you shave off and did it actually help your head not hit the roof?
