I'm going to change out the muffler for a super10. Anyone know what size I'll need to match the stock piping. I've found some older threads but they all have mixed answers some say 2.5 others say 2.25
    Truck is a 2006 4.0 v6

The tubing is metric. I use 2.5 on 2nd gens but you could swage a 2.25 to fit the metric size if needed.

The muffler should show the details to what it is if you're buying new. If it doesn't, chances are it's 2.25 in 2.5 out, meaning; your stock exhaust will mount to it, but the piping out of it will need to be enlarged to 2.5."

Muffler shops have this in stock because V8 motors run this. If you want to keep your truck quiet then they will have 2.25 in stock as well if you want them to weld a reducer for it.

Just make sure they don't have it dump under the cab unless you want to go deaf.

Every shop I've owned or worked at just stocked same inlet and outlet size. They flared the tailpipe to fit the larger diameter muffler neck or used a 2" piece of 2.5 exhaust to reduce down the neck size if the inlet to the tailpipe was too close to a bend to swage it.

Yes I do. If you're gonna use the super 10 I'd probably use part number 842516
