It should. I think it goes further back. I would find a picture with the bolt pattern and see if you can locate the ones that the plate uses. I know the front 4 should work. Behind that, idk.

Looks like Pelfreybilt just did a group buy for Oahu(not sure where you are), so there should be a couple laying around people are wanting to get rid of.

 

Gotcha, makes sense. I left mine there previously since it mentioned to do so and I imagine it to be for the reason you stated for more coverage.
