Oh yeah my bad you are correct. We have to do the generated answer key twice.....dont know why we got the instructions but cant get the codes. Im just impatient when it comes to having everything to complete a task but unable to continue....

Same here. They would have had the copy of the ECU however long it takes to download it. Maybe it is difficult to generate the answer key? I had to add windows to my MAC. The old open port would work on the MAC.

    Hey everyone!

alpha kits registrations working on that today for you guys, our keying process goes back and forth with our developers
pending orders (some of which I need to go through for the discount if it was missed) will all be prepared for shipping as soon as I return.
lots of question I will try to get to today, I will also be posting some info about the kit process to clarify, etc.
we want this process to go as smoothly as possible for everyone, understand everyone is very excited to get things going.
This blew up bigger than expected so bear with me while I work through everything! I was expecting about 5-6 more people when we opened up thursday night. I was mistaken.
Anyways that's not a bad thing and we are very very excited for what we will be providing everyone!

The owner of the truck said he does not want to be known in public / on the forum so he doesn't flooded with questions

The read and writing process is very easy so we would hope not. We outlined in our instructions our recommendations to ensure 100% stable connection every time.

This will happen if people do not follow instructions carefully. This is not the bulldog plug in. You are accessing and writing to the ECU.

If the instructions are followed to a T when writing, all will be good.....

I think once they get into production they will be able to at least offer the mail in ECU option. You are correct though you need to read instructions and follow instructions. This is not load a software package and key and go. You down load the drivers and programs and then run through an installation process. The instructions so far have been 100% correct. So again the key is follow the instructions.

I completely understand, and it is always good to know ahead of time any potential concerns. Our instructions are detailed in this section specifically to ensure no problems.

I hope you guys are not angry or disappointed that we / our tester does not want to be known in public. I understand and will respect his request for privacy. All the alpha guys are welcome to post anything if they wish to.

I think a lot of people don't understand what they are getting for their money. Sure you will get a base tune file. But the capability for OVTune to look at your data logs and then make adjustment based on your feedback and the trucks is huge. I had my money out prior to them even knowing what the gains would be. There will be a big demand for this and they are only scratching the surface with TW.

Nope, not angry at all here! Personally anything above and beyond GREATLY improved throttle response and linear power delivery is gravy. The only way to guage this is by driver feedback. That midrange torque increase though.. back to patiently waiting.

Mat, can you get him to write his experience/opinions so you could post them and he could remain unknown?

The results, pictures, instagram, etc etc was all his vehicle. I will ask his review and post it. I do not know his username on here. I do know he is on here watching the thread. I'll ask his review and post it like others mentioned.

once we were finished we took it for a test drive I explained the changes done to throttling and had him drive and test ECT / non ECT modes, on / off throttle etc, gave him an explanation of everything changed and why, and then asked him to collect some MPG data for us. I asked him if he'd like to post on the forum (he's a member here) and he said he'd prefer to stay silent so that his inbox is not flooded with questions. That is all.

Not fishy at all. We have seen the charts from his truck. I would have probably done the same thing. People on TW can be brutal even when you are doing them a favor or even trying to help someone. I have been on other forums, like for my razor and it is a way different forum.

As someone that gets over 150 emails a day every day, I totally understand why he wouldn't want that. I mean look at this forum and the individuals that have to post over and over again the same things. Rather than just wait for feedback. Questions are one thing but individuals always asking for updates, is a bit much. This is a process and we all get this. Anything worthwhile is worth waiting for.

So is the Dyno chart showing just the low end of what can be tuned ? The owner of this test truck did not want to push the limits of the tune is this correct? If that is true they used the wrong test truck! I would like to see a dyno with max tune! Maybe one at a mid level tune as well! I really want jump in on this but want to see a little better result or more results from guys who are willing to review and talk about the improvements!

That will be coming soon. Stay tuned for next week. I can't imagine reviews not coming in next week for all of us and all of the kits that were sold on Thursday and have been sold since.
