Traction huh?

    so, im offroad. I turn off traction control. Cruising a longg speedily.. when i break the rear end loose a little, something engages.. some kind of traction system?? Anyone?

    I think your traction control is off, but the limited slip is still working. The limited slip isn't in the rear end but activated by the brakes.

    Stability control never truly disables. All Toyotas and most vehicles are like this.

    Only in 4LO does it turn off completely.

    I thought if you press and hold traction control button it is off until restarted or ignition cycle. This is how mine behaves on dirt roads and such when playing around.

    When you are stopped. Push and hold the traction button for about 3-5 seconds.

    On my '09 I have to hold the button for 3ish seconds then light on the dash goes out and it's donut city!

    Last winter I played with it on and off in the snow to see what I could and couldn't do with it on. Then how the truck handled with it off. Learned allot. If you want to drift dirt roads or snow you need it off. If you want to pull through a corner then on in 4H. I think it is OK for everyday driving, but to be honest I like it off.

    I thought i just had to push it once and today is the first day i found my self in a good place to play around and was immediatrly like wtf is this bullshit? Glad you guys gave me the biz. I was getting high about it all sad and shit.
