Shine a flash light down the tube there's 2 white thingy. See if there's any fuzz, it will look off white greyish in color. Hard to explain. I'll take a close up photo when I'm working tomorrow.

    Where in CA are you?

I'm not sure if the fuel injector are reachable.
I would place a long screwdriver or something similar and place your ear on the handle of screw driver and listen for the injector ticking. That way you could eliminate injector issues

I live in Jacksonville, FL. Originally from Bakersfield, CA. My family is all over CA. We were just going to visit a few: Bako, Paso Robles, LA, and possibly Palm Springs & Riverside.

I will definitely give that a shot. Anything to help diagnose problems.

Not yet. Getting the coil in the morning. Wanted to stick with Denso, and I couldn't find it in stock at auto parts stores. Not even Toyota. So I had to order it through Toyota. I hated to pay a little more than parts stores, but it's worth it. Ordering online with overnight shipping wouldn't get here until the afternoon or early evening. Getting it at 9 AM through Toyota is better than 5 PM. Especially in the situation of being on vacation.

Main destination is Bakersfield to see my brother and his family. I lived there for almost 20 years. Yeah...I know about the heat.

Yeah. The humidity sucks. The dry heat sucks. Any kind of extreme heat sucks. There are times I wonder why the hell I live where I do.

Put in the new coil, and drove it around today. The misfire's gone. No CELs. Drives great!

Thanks everyone for you help. Much appreciated.

We decided to just head home, and postpone CA for another time. So, we will just hit some cool places as we make our way back to Florida. Whatever we find interesting that's on our way home will be added.

    Tomorrow: Moab.

Made it to Gallup, NM from Salt Lake City with only one issue. P0420
That popped up while driving on a bumpy trail in Moab. Reset it, and it hasn't come on since.

Other than that, truck is running great. Let's hope day 2 goes well.

Made it home. Truck drove smoothly without any issues.

The drive home was just over 2400 miles from West Valley, Utah to Jacksonville, Florida. Of course, I did do some driving around Moab that added to the mileage.
