X '07 Tundra 4x2 owner. New '17 Tacoma 4x4 Off Road owner.

'07 Tundra was my first Toyota truck. Loved it! Best truck ever. Had a toy hauler and towed it all around. Sold the toyhauler. Traded in the Tundra for a Taco. Looking to get into 4x4'ing in the So Cal area. Total newbie, no idea where or what I'd like to do yet. I do like fly fishing so hoping the taco can take me into some great fishing spots.

Just got the truck last week. Was dying to get it in the dirt and climb something. Took it to the desert near El Mirage with my son. Had a great time doing donuts and climbing some small beginner hills, also stopped and shot some rounds at targets. I love the newbie button (crawl control). Climbed up a hill that was a lot steeper on the other side [for a newbie] (little tilt graphic was at 30 down). Had lots of loose rock and holes. Hit the crawl control and put it on speed 1. Let go of the break and it worked like a champ! Nice controlled descend.

Can see how it would be fun to 4x4 in a group. Anyone know any So Cal groups to recommend? Any fly fishers out there?

Also any good places locally for mods?
