Conversation I had with my dad about 10 minutes ago:
Dad- "Hey are you busy, I have a problem with my truck."
Me- "The 79 Datsun or the 2009 Tacoma?"
    Dad-"The Tacoma."
    Me-"What's wrong?"
Dad-"My AC, it only works on HI and I was wondering if you knew anything about that?"
Me-"I was just reading about that the other day." I am simultaneously pulling up google and typing AC only works on HI Tacomaworld to find the thread.
Dad-"I was hoping you could see if there was anything about that on that website you use."
Me-"Already on it, sent you a link to the thread and also a link to the part on Amazon."
Dad-"Really? How did you find that?"
Me-"I was just reading about it the other day, someone must have brought it up."

From here my dad and I look at the photos and also discuss looking at the electrical connector before ordering anything.

Anyway, from my Dad's point of view right now this site is incredible, I helped him get variable speed wipers on his truck and now figure out why his AC isn't working.

    Thanks TW.

...and then @ramonortiz55 turned this into a blower resistor motor group buy.

And thanks to TW we diagnosed the problem, and found the fix in less than 5 minutes.

TW is awesome, it's helped diagnose so many common and uncommon issues with the various 'Yota's in the family, it has also sparked some deep conversations on various mods between myself and cousins as well as their dad (career mechanic).

My dad just called me and says: "I'm driving in the rain with my variable speed wipers and cold air blowing from the AC, thanks for the help!"

    Success story thanks to TW.

Side note, he went to the dealership to get the part and they tried to buy his 2009 AC two wheel drive base model with 78K on it and have him leave in a 3rd gen. He said those new trucks are nice, but his is paid off and doesn't want a $40 truck.

And, so now, his forum name is what? I just wanted to get that in there before somebody else did. LOL

This site has been invaluable to me, only to the point of giving me the courage to do small things, but things nonetheless.

I am on my second Taco and both have had resistor problems. I just smack it and it goes back to working on low again.
