    On to the floor!!!

Unplug your battery so you don't take an airbag to the face.. other than that, have at it.

Time to clear out the madness so I have room to work!

The dog is here merely to supervise..

Starting with the back seats.. flip the lower half forward and remove the bolts (four in total for both sides)

Once out, the back will be much better exposed.

Don't go straight for the back half of the seats.. its a pain to get to the bolts at this stage. Better off removing the plastic storage area first:

Three bolts on each side and these pop right out.

Now that those are out, the seat bolts are much easier to get at. 2 each for the 3 brackets.

Don't forget the seatbelt bolt! When trying to remove the backseat, it felt like someone was holding me from going anywher.. they were!

Once all the seats are out. It's time to remove the cargo compartments.

These are easy, just start at one end and pop the the holders out one at a time until you can lift the whole piece.

Pull the plastic door liners while you are still in the back seat, makes it much easier to get at the carpet.

The plastic barrier across the back can just be pulled out. I had no intention of keeping it so I just kind of yanked. If you go slow and careful, it will be easy to put back.

The front seats have bolts both front and back. The back are hiding under little plastic covers, the front are exposed. Remove both, and then lean the seat back so you can get at the wiring. You have to disconnect all of the electrical underneath to get the seats out. I found it easier to take the seats out through the back door than the front. Your mileage may vary.

Starting to get some space in here:

Removing the center console is just a couple of bolts ( I think ). I put a console vault in a long time ago, so I can't remember if the same bolts apply for a stock vehicle. Any ways, remove the two to start:

Once out, the console can be pulled apart. Be careful with the back piece, you will need to disconnect the cigarette lighter before fully removing.

The underside of the shifter (for manuals) has 6 screws that need to be removed in order to release the console.

The center console itself also has two exposed bolts that need to be removed

The 2 pound piece of useless crap labeled as a charger can be pulled out at this point. Now that I have looked at it.. and the space underneath.. I am thinking that I can come up with a much better piece of custom storage space.

Alright.. I am getting more space to work in here.

Pull up the front door sills while you are here.

Take out the front seat belts. Just pop the plastic piece off and unscrew the custom unreplacable expensive SOB bolt. Don't lose these. Duct tape them to your forehead as needed. Right now I am passengerless due to a stray bolt..

Speaking of bolts.. I took this time to mark all of my bolts and screws to keep track.

Hidden up under the dash are two little hand screws that need to be undone to release the molding that rests at your feet

Pop the center molding off. It fought me but came off cleanly.

Pull the carpet out. This will expose the padding as well as the floor vents for the back seat. These vents aren't glued or screwed, they just pop apart.

Once the vents are out.. rip that crappy pad out. I stored mine in the trash can in case the raccoons are looking to downgrade their den.

Finally got the floor completely exposed. I will end here and follow up with a post that has the install of the sound deadening.

    Adding sound deadening:

Now that the truck is ripped apart, we are ready to start adding the pad and mat. First, the doggo needs his afternoon treat (its hot after all).

Now that we have that taken care of, its time to clean. Material will stick better to clean dirt and dust free surfaces. I ran through everything with some multipurpose 409 and some rags.

While everything was drying, I went to prepare the initial pieces of mat. Using a whole punch leftover from the prinsu install, I punched out 26 squares of mat.

I used these to go around every needed bolt hole in the truck (26 of them). This helped to give those areas extra dampening, as well as mark them so I didn't cover them.

The process of matting started at the back, as I slowly put mat in and around every single thing I could find.

I removed hardward in the back, added matting, and then reattached.

I popped the vents into the wall, and did matting that overlapped all four sides, and then just pulled them back into place.

This picture is where I ran out of my 1st box of matting. So at this point I did everything up in the headliner, most of the back wall, and the back seat with 36 sqf of matting.

This is what wasn't finished on the back wall.

I continued the matting process around every exposed item I could get away with. I only avoided pieces that would make it difficult to reinstall hardware. I did a double layer on nearly every piece that I could get to.

Once I had all of this stuff in, I moved on to the pad. In comparison to the mat, this stuff was easy. I double layered everything I could make contact with.

Reinstalling hardware was nice and easy. The only fight was the plastics on the back wall, as they required a lot of manipulation to get back into place.

The carpet layed nice and easy without fighting me at all.

Final product worked great. The only difference when you first jump in is that the flooring has more cushioning. It seems more plush.

This was much easier than I thought and is a project that anyone can do!

Surprisingly not a lot of time here. I started at about 10 am and had everything put back together by 8. I had expected it to leak into the next day, but it didn't. Which is good. Gives me time to install a pop n lock

It is getting there!! Still have a long way to go. Waiting on a mounting bracket to install my onboard air, and my onboard water should be here in the next couple of weeks!

Yep, get in there and start tearing things apart. This was way easier than I thought it would be.

Hey, worse case scenario, you completely destroy the interior and then have to shift modes into installing an internal roll cage for aggressive over landing

How much sound improvement did you get with just the floor? I know you've done the roof. Have you done the doors yet?

The floor made a massive improvement.. I haven't done the doors yet, so it was very noticable that the road noise seemed to move to the doors. You just can't hear things through the floor over the noise coming through the doors. It will be nice to knock those out next to see where I am at.

Last question, which padding did you use? Trying to decide here.

Got the compressor installed today! Couldn't have been done without the custom bracket from @MJ_PDX

went from there to installing the hood lights from @mattgecko

I added a kill switch for those times I'm trying to be stealthy.

Wiring is starting to get heavy under here:

And now that the switchpro is full, I need to start making plans for where the next switch pro will go.

It's a process that's for sure. Just got notification that my onboard water setup shipped, so that will be going on in the next couple of weeks.
