I am going to get a set of NAPA premium CVs and see if I can break them. For science.

I earn all the time. Same paycheck every 2 weeks no matter what. Can't add or subtract any money.

    You know this lol.

I put two newly rebuilt CVJ axles in my truck when I redid the front end. I had them already as spares. I figured, rather than carrying a junk yard spare, if I did have to change an axle on the trail, I wouldn't have to redo it when I got home. That's why I bought complete axles.

If I only needed a boot, I'd just reboot my OEM axles. Actually, I did do that once.

Now, since I put my new CVJ axles in, I have one CVJ reman, and one OEM axle with a CVJ boot as spares. Same thing. If I have to swap one out on the trail. I can just leave it in there until the next time.

    That's my thinking anyway.

A junk yard axle is just fine IMO

It'll get you home and then some.
Nothing wrong with a junk yard axle.

Unless there's something wrong with the junk yard axle.

Boot kits are $50 from toyota... still cheaper than CVJ... the boot On the CV Ant gave me was already torn. Nothing we could do about it but the CVs are working just fine still

I carry a spare driveshaft that has bad U joints. If I need to use it I will just replace them before I put it in. Hopefully it will be on a nasty trail too. In the rain. At night.

Yeah send them an email. They will respond in a day or two. Super great service.

Their rebuilt axles come shipped with a breather tube for the inners that you need to pull once the truck is at ride height!

I used a coffee stirrer when I did mine. One of the best tips I have come across.

While I am at it I will throw new boots on the CVs too.
Why bother doing anything in advance?
Might do an oil change also if needed.

We did replace @sente3 CVs in the lot at Rausch. Maybe we should have done them on the trail for fun.
