I know the front/mid/rear are the same, just not sure if gas tank is still the same though.

Fun trip last night guys, Rowher is always a little different in the dark which is nice. Too bad that FJ with the broken tie rod blocked the trail on the way down :annoyed:

Did anyone else hit that gnarly pothole on Bouquet coming around one of the turns toward the end of the windy section? Hit it so hard both mine and my g/f's heads hit the top of my truck, had to pull over and check my wheel/tire and shit. Probably had more to do with my crappy suspension than anything else lol.

Stoked to see the photos from the run :hattip:

Was that the pot hole hidden by the water running through the road? That fucking hit hard, I thought it was just a little water in the road and !!!!!BAM!!!!. Didn't hit my head but it was definitely startling and got a WTF!?!? out of me.

Yeah, you don't even need OEM. OEM is great, but Autozone junk will get you back to pavement/home with some finesse if you break somewhere gnarly, just gotta be gentle with it.

Yeah, I would never just abandon my truck like that. Id rather call some one to get the parts and get it out that night. Ive seen what happens when people leave their rigs overnight.

I know right! I think that's all I've done the last month is fixed picture sizing. Hopefully this should help for the time being till we retake with a new camera.

This bottom one is with our "dual transfer case skid" (that's why it looks much further back), but it helps show the front of the fuel tank skid.
We've gone through quite a few "web designers" but it just didn't work out. So we taught ourselves backend coding and making a real website to display much better what we have been doing for so long. We love a challenge! But thanks for the feedback, I actually missed that the gas tank picture was still set to thumbnail.

Correct, we come from the hard-core wheeling and rock buggy world and are formally educated engineers, so we like to use a variety of material, along with a proper engineered mounting system to help distribute the load, and tailor to individual needs more.

We make our fuel tank armor out of 3/16" (4.76mm) steel, 3/16" (4.76mm) stainless steel, 1/4" (6.35mm) 5052 aluminum, or 1/8" (3.175mm) "lite" steel which is very close to 10 gauge. We like 1/8" for general easy trail ride use, nothing too crazy, more overland style wheeling. Plus it gives a weight saving of closer to aluminum with steel prices. So it definitely has it's place for several driving styles.

You can definitely use that stock fuel tank strap to hold our armor up. We do sell a heavy duty scrap for Tacomas that never came with a resin fuel tank shield, but there is no need to spend extra money for it.

Our tummy tucked truck (clocks the transfer case up into the cab, making the rock sliders the lowest point of the truck) reuses the stock straps, so the gas tank is the only thing that hangs down. We've dragged those strap bolts on everything from the Rubicon to Moab and Tellico (when it was open) never had an issue. Just don't want you to spend money you don't need to spend.
