Can't see it from the driver seat back here behind the mirror. Ran the cord behind the head liner. Just pull it down a tad and push it above the lip. Then inside the A pillar plastic. Through the door gap and behind the kick panel. Then up above the end of the foot well and to the front cigarette lighter. Very little of it is exposed

I also have flipped over my mirror because I'm too tall to see passed it

Nice job and thanks for posting exact pics of the location. This helps me out tremendously. At first glance, the photos posted were so big I thought you re purposed the GoPro mount. Im liking your placement especially with the night video you posted.

That's the 13MP wide angle camera on my G6. I love these cameras on the phone

I got the 2-channel Blacksys CH-100B for my wife's NX and I just bought the Blacksys CH-200 for my Tacoma. App is very intuitive and can be personalized easily. The CH-200 is just a newer version of the CH-100B, which now has 1080p on both the front and back, and other features that the previous model didnt come with. Also supposed to handle temps up to 150 degrees, and it hasn't had any problems in the Hawaii heat.

I couldn't handle the cost for the BlackVue 650, so I went with the DR470-2CH. Still a 2-channel unit, still HD, still has GPS but no WiFi. So I need to pop the card out to review footage. I'll admit in the beginning I was pulling the SD card out after every trip to review the settings, which makes the WiFi option look really nice, but after getting the settings the way I like I'm fine without the WiFi option.

I'm in PHX and it's hot AF here. I've had the cameras installed for about a month and a half with no issues. I also bought the Power Magic Pro to handle the power when ignition is off. It can be set with dip switches to cut off when the battery hits the voltage you specify. I went conservative at 12v cutoff, so when I park, I usually get 5-6 hours of "on" time before it powers off. Sometimes when I get in the truck after a while, the dome light turning on triggers the cutoff and I hear the "powering down" prompt. I might try the 11.8v cutoff just to see.

It's a nice setup. Just don't cheap out. I tried to, and ended up very frustrated.

FWIW - I also tried the GoPro option. Meh. It's too "visible" for me... and my wife said it looks stupid hanging down like it does. But she's a hater, so ....

I'm looking for a Dash Cam that can handle the Texas heat, clear image, and parking mode that I can hard wire. I have a Garman 35 that's worked great on one of my vehicles. Want to try a different one for my taco.

Well, mine handles the PHX heat, and it's pretty freaking hot here. No battery, uses a capacitor, hard wires, has parking mode, has shock sensors, has GPS... Read the post above yours.

Any recommendations from those that live in colder climates? Been thinking of getting one since I bought the truck 2 years ago. But our winters, though mostly mild, can still reach -20*F. A camera that can survive that would be nice.

When you get a chance, can you post an exterior shot? I park on the street in San Francisco and need a dash cam that is pretty stealthy.

It's hard to get a picture from the outside because it's black and the head liner and mirror looks black, too. I tried a couple times

It's installed here. You can't see it. I'm not worried about someone breaking in for an A119

You should be fine with any capacitor model. I can't find low temp specs

I just bought a Soocoo C30R , So far it works fine , but I will only use it for traveling on vacation trips in a vehicle . I want it mostly for in a boat for fishing and the grand kids while tubing etc. Amazing quality of video for a $71 camera imo.
