I just bought a 2017 4x4 and am wondering what lift kits will not void the warranty.

The one that doesn't cause a suspension failure.

This is true. All lifts will void the warranty on suspension parts that are changed. None will void warranty on anything else UNLESS Toyota can prove that the lift caused whatever else to fail.

Not sure if this is true or not as well. But I was told anything over 3" will void MY warranty. This was told to me by 3 dealerships I visited.

What warranty? The overall manufacturers warranty? Lol if so, ask them if they are aware of the magnuson moss warranty act.

A few additions to make me feel cool.
The best way to look at is that if it does not require a permanent modification it should not void your warranty. IE if you can bolt it on the new part would not be covered but you would also have the ability to return it to stock form if you needed. Thus not affecting the factory coverage.

Too many "barrack lawyers" on this forum. Don't listen to them :D

There's more to the so often quoted Magnuson-Moss act. Like any law...it is extremely complex and has a bunch of gray areas that can get interpreted a million different ways.

In theory, yes, the dealer would have to prove that a modification actually caused the failure/issue before they deny you for warranty work. In real life, however, it rarely works that easily. And a lifted truck with bigger tires is just "low hanging fruit" for them to deny you.

And good luck with just throwing the Magnuson-Moss act into the argument without going through an actual lawyer. Wanna bring a lawyer? Ok, now you have have legal fees, aggravation, time wasted, etc., and the coveted title of "PITA costumer."

My barrack lawyer advise is this: if you want to start modifying your truck, do it with the knowledge that you are taking a very real risk. It's a risk most take because the rewards outweigh the risk itself, and toyota trucks are very reliable.

    Exceptions:

    a. Every dealership is different and your local one might not give a shit about mods. If this is the case, consider yourself extremely lucky.

    b. It is a known fact that the more money you spend with the local dealer (besides the purchase of the truck), the more likely they are to bend over backwards with warranty claims for you. So go do all oil changes with them, tire rotations, buy tires from them, do small things like air filters, buy accessories, etc .

    Good luck.

    all tore up already
Since a 6" lift requires cutting into the frame, you think they will warranty a modified frame if it comes to recall status in 10 years? Gl with that.

A few OE parts from fancy trucks
They will all void the warranty on the parts affected by whatever you change.
