Hello, pre-newbie here, as I'm considering buying my first Tacoma, a 2017 TRD-OR. I will be doing some light towing with it, mostly less than 3K#. Factory ride height and suspension will be adequate for my moderate OR needs, but I want some provision for preventing rear end sag under trailer tongue weight. My reasoning leads me toward air bags; I have 'em when I need 'em, and deflate when no don't.

Any better ideas? If you agree with airbags, any recommendations? Would probably like to have onboard compressor, too.

Thanks, and looking forward to joining the ranks of Tacoholics...JB

2017 TRDOR owner here. I frequently tow a cargo trailer at the max it is rated for of roughly 3,000#. I have sumosprings and I am fairly pleased with them for towing. I have towed one time without them installed and it was terrible. I'd imagine bagged would be great. Sumos make the ride rougher than stock, but my truck has 600+ lbs. on it at all times, so an unloaded truck may not be on the sumos like mine is.

I looked at the Firestone riderite(?) and went sumos for ease of use. If I had it to do over again, I'd bag it.

Thanks, I'll investigate the Sumos. Certainly a much easier and less $$ install, and probably adequate for what I need.
