    This may be a dumb question but i dont have a clue on lockers. If i just got a rear locker on this group buy for my stock gearing 16 sport 4x4 Automatic, would i be able to use the same locker in the future on 4:56 gears?

    It was a good effort but it looks like it was not the right time for the masses. Thanks @Low Range Off-Road and @Blackdawg. Maybe we can try it again later in the year. I guess it gives me time on whether to cut my truck up for 35's and go 4.88 or stick with 4.56 and 33's. :drunk:

    As a result of this I did find a local shop that gave me an awesome price on installation so looks like I'll be getting gears anyway as well :)

    Sorry if this thread is considered "dead" - I'm new to Tacoma World and apologize if I shouldn't be posting here.

    I've had my 2017 TRD Sport manual transmission Access Cab for about a month now, and will be bumping up in tire size to 275/70/17. I need to re-gear. With the manual transmission I have the 8.75" rear end, and 4.30 gears. Even with the stock rubber I have to shift into first gear in three spots during my commute home (from 5,500 to 8,300 feet above sea level). I'm also in first gear going uphill on dirt roads in spots where I run in second gear in my 1997 Tacoma. I've been waiting to go off-road until after I get new rubber and skids - but its clear that the lack of low-end torque will be a problem. Sounds like 4.88 makes more sense than just going up to 4.56. I'm also going to do ARB lockers at the same time, but it sounds like its too late for the Group Buy. I'm on the front range in Colorado, and am looking for a shop that does gears (thinking about using Slee Off-Road). Re-gearing can be tricky, so I'd appreciate any suggestions for a good shop. Thanks!
