I find it odd that out of 32 variations of Tacoma models, only 5 are manual transmission and only one offered with a 6' bed and V6. This is by no means a complaint about model# 7559, but if the off-road version was available, I would have gladly traded the hood scoop for rear locking differentials.
I've only had it a few months and like it for what it is. The absent torque in low rpm is my only complaint.

After reading your post again. are you saying the access cab MT6 only comes in the Sport model?

I think he's saying he wanted a long bed off road with an MT. Which seems to be a typical but valid complaint around here. Only way to get a V6 long bed MT is as an access cab sport (except Canada or something).

My 7559 has been fine - However the Scoop is a novelty that I'd gladly get rid of...Especially when cresting a steep hill - It's totally in your desired field of vision. Otherwise - I love my AC Sport with MT - If it got stolen...I'd replace it. Clay

I like the cleaner look of my OR hood but some say the opposite.

For some reason Canada gets the access cab offroad 6 speed manual, but no sport. Opposite for USA.

In Fact the I chose my colour because of a access cab manual offroad in a showroom.

I test drove a TRD pro, and I found that the hood scope obstructed my forward view. I am only 5'9' though.

TRD off road is the way to go. I am very glad I got a manual.

I have a feeling the Tacoma will be one of the last automobiles to be offered with a manual in the US

This has been the thing keeping me from buying a 3rd gen. I want OR, MT 6ft bed. If I only needed 5ft I could buy a Subaru.

I have a DCSB OR and I wish it had the longer bed. But that being said I have to parallel park in a few places I have to go to and it can be awkward even with the short bed.

I was in this exact dilemma. I needed four doors and 6' bed. I could only get the automatic so I went with the OR and told myself it was for the crawl control.

You can get a TRD OR AC 6MT in Canada. Probably because more people in Canada actually need the rear locker, being with the snow and what not. Americans just want something pretty to roll around on the pavement.. i.e. the Sport. This I imagine is Toyota's thought process.

The necessity of a 6ft bed leaves me no option but the #7559, or the four banger SR.
Strange U.S.A. Toyota does not offer the Access cab 6ft bed TRD offroad, Canada does have that version.

I had twelve years of looking over that bump in my 05 TRD Sport Long bed. I don't need the bigger cab now and I really missed the manual. The turning radius was also a factor in deciding on what model would meet my needs best.
