I just bought my Taco over the weekend. I had 220 miles on it and decided to go bigger with the tires. I ended up buying Toyo Open Country M/T 265/75/17 . My alignment was 100% on point before this. I drive off and notice its pulling a little to the right. I also noticed the tire pressure was high on a few tires so I pulled over and dropped all 4 down to about 35-37psi. I keep driving and its still pulling to the right. If i let go of the wheel at 60mph it will change lanes.

Its gonna be a couple days before my schedule permits me to go back to the shop that installed them. Anyone ever heard of this happening. ? I know its always wise to get alignment after new tires but that usually goes for older trucks I thought. I was under the impression that if the truck is brand new and alignment is perfect, that switching tires wouldn't affect anything. Am I wrong?

I would get an alignment for sure if it's pulling that bad. Usually don't need it for a tire change, but looks like you went up a size so that could have thrown it off. But yea normally new trucks won't need it for awhile unless you change the suspension or hit a curb or pothole going 50mph. I think you get a free alignment with your factory warranty? Not sure though.

Ok , did a quick search and looks like this is very common with these tires....

Try cross rotating your front tires to see if it will pull to the left or straighten out.

I'm gonna try that tonight. My tire guy already said we can swap them out for any other tires as long as I don't go past 500 miles on them. I think i'm going to switch to BFG. My buddy has a F250 brand new and got Toyo M/T's and said his pulls to the right too. he swapped tires around and didint help, got an alignment and they just countered the pull but it still didint go away 100%. Hard to believe Toyo hasnt nipped this in the butt. I am seeing threads from 2012 about the same issue. BUT I did have these on my last Tacoma 285/76/17 and had zero issues and they were smooth as butter.

I grew up in hb and I know that the roads are built for drainage . Take beach blvd for instance. Any vehicle shouldn't need an alignment after a tire change unless there is a possibility that it was knocked out of alignment. Cars and trucks want to go to the side the road is tilting to ... I think that is what is going on... try driving on pch down by the power plant where it's flat and see.

While driving on the 405 if I let go of the wheel it will be in the next lane within seconds lol. I just checked the DOT # on all 4 tires and realized the front left was made in 2016 and the rest 2017. This may be the issue, however I am still going to go back to BFG A/T for now. Gonna go M/T after I lift it.
