My next mod will be a full suspension overhaul on my 3rd Gen DCLB OR. I do 95% on road, with most of the off-roading being primarily overland style week-ish long trips. I was initially thinking about going with the OME BP-51 set-up though after thinking about it, I feel like external reservoirs while sexy may not be what I need.

Since most of my driving is on-road, I initially thought about just going with some OME springs and upgraded shocks BUT the issues with that is 2-fold, 1) I have pretty impressive taco lean. It's about 2.5" higher on the passenger side than driver side with a full tank of gas and only about 2.25" with about a quarter tank -- this Toyota says is within spec so basically, I'm stuck with that. With that much lean, I'm quite concerned that a 1/4" strut spacer won't do crap for 2.5" of lean. 2) I have plans to more weight to the vehicle, specifically front bumper w/ winch and rear bumper with tire carrier

Based on my situation, it seems I would be best suited with a non-external resevoir coilover set-up. Agree? Disagree? Which would you recommended. I primarily need the adjustability initially to help with taco lean and to make an adjustment once there is added weight to ensure I still have ~ 3" of lift once the added weight goes on in the next year or 2. The adjustability of dampening & rebound offered by the BP-51 and others while a very nice feature, might be underutilized given my driving habits and I think that money could be better utilized....

Any recommendations would be much appreciated.

PS I plan to run 285/75/17 tires

I'm running icon 2.5 C/Os extended travel with no reservoir. They have a standard travel as well if you don't feel like doing UCAs. I'm so happy with the ride.

    I'm also running 285s

I believe you can talk to king and get their CO made without remote resis. Also how are you measuring your lean? Ground to fender? Try center of hub to fender, and see if your difference is so drastic.

If it is, look into replacing your body mounts with polyurethane ones. I've heard that's the real reason for the taco lean and the suspension spacer is just a band aid.

King 2.5 OEM coilovers come with or without adjusters. They run around $1450.
