    Hi

Just bought a 2008 Tacoma DC TRD Sport with new KO2 tires on stock wheels. I already have several issues:

    1) 3" Suspension upgrade suggestions. Not cheapest or most expensive. Friend suggested OME.

    2) Factory stereo needs to be changed pronto!

    3) Clunking noise in back end. Already tightened one box bolt. Looking for other potential loose bolts

    4) Squeaky leaf springs. May upgrade to a new leaf pack (Dakar) with suspension lift.

Suggestions and ideas would be appreciated.

@HeadStrong Off-Road is a great place to get kit with Bilistein 5100 shocks, lift coils and AAL or dakars.

I had sqeeky leafs cleaned the dirt that built up while installing AALs and shocks. Squeaks very, very little now.

    1) 3" Suspension upgrade suggestions. Not cheapest or most expensive. Friend suggested OME.

OME is a great choice, but to make sure it's the best choice: How do you use your truck?

    2) Factory stereo needs to be changed pronto!

    Here's a great place to start - http://*********.com/

    3) Clunking noise in back end. Already tightened one box bolt. Looking for other potential loose bolts

Check the u-joints in the drive line, your center support carrier bearing, check to see if your leaf springs are cracked, check your U-bolts.

    4) Squeaky leaf springs. May upgrade to a new leaf pack (Dakar) with suspension lift.

Leaf springs almost always develop some sort of squeak due to dirt and debris getting stuck between the leafs. Rubber pads (shims) between the leafs works well to minimize or eliminate that.

@eccracer104 yeah OEM sounds and looks good. Going to be using my truck for some fairly burly off road stuff in BC, Canada where I live. I'm not a serious off roader but I will be using my truck to get into cool backcountry places for camping and rock climbing.

Old Man Emu definitely offers a very stout suspension kit, it would work very well for what you're looking to do. If you have the time, may be worth while to scan the for sale section for a set of used coilovers to have the best of the best, but OME is a great option and the complete kit is much more well priced. I would recommend getting a set of aftermarket UCAs to pair with it. They will keep you in proper alignment and yield a little better range of travel.

Ome is really good for the money. As far as the clunking noise when does it make the sound. Taking off, when it shifts, when going over bumps. The noise could be many different things. Could be as simple as a loose fitting hitch ball mount bouncing inside the reciever if you have one in. I've found that to be my problem before after checking many bolts.

Checked all my bolts underneath the truck. Seems like the clunk is coming from the rear shocks. I think they are gonzo. Only makes the clunking over bumps. I think the suspension upgrade is in order.
