    This, reading the forum before I got my Taco I assumed almost every taco owner was a member here. Or at least shared some enthusiasm

    Was expecting a "jeep thing" too. That feel when you pull up to a sweet taco at the light and its a teenage girl or a team of gardeners :der:

    Yeah there are quite a few older 2nd gens around me with women drivers.

    Usually the tacos completely stock or with camper shells are the older male variety

    The trucks I really expect a wave from usually don't even look my way

    I have no friends

    In so cal there's like a billion 3rd gens so I don't pay attention but if I see a wave I'll wave back. However I did wave at a cement pro yesterday in OC.

    I'll get waves from different owners in my e30 and used to get random ones and thumbs up in my Evo x. S2000 owners always wave or nod like 75% of the time.

    I never wave and never been waved at that I noticed. This reminded me of a Louis CK story. He said he was in Starbucks and noticed a guy wearing a t-shirt exactly like his. He caught the guys eye, waved, pointed at his chest and gave him a thumbs up. The guys odd look reminded him that he wasn't wearing his matching shirt at the time. My point being that we live in a world where things are so mass marketed that a lot of people buy the same things. I wear Hanes underwear but I'm not waving at some droopy pants kid with his Hanes on display.

    Well I wave. But I was wondering why I never got a wave back.
    Then it hit me. My wife was directing me to do something and I was pointing and waving at something. And she says: I can't see you. I said I'm right her what the hell do u want me to do. She said point out the window. So I get out she gets in and well I can't see her. All the windows are to God damn dark.
    I have the rear windows, back windows, front strip and the sunroof limo tint over the factory tone. And the front side windows 35%. So u can't see in. So know I now why I don't get waves back.

    Yeah, like, they make leather goods in their garage and eat a bologna sammich for dinner types

    Thats what I think every time I see a Tacoma with a hard topper. Dude must make badass leather goods or is an excellent craftsman of wooden things

    I like my double cab automatic!

    And I'll watch and wave when appropriate. Getting the eyeball back is a good indicator. Got a solid wave from a older gen Land Cruiser set up for nicely for off roading / camping / overlanding.
