Chevron Techron. I buy a bottle when its time for an oil change. I also buy a bottle when going on road trips where I'm going to run through an entire tank of gas in one day.

It also depends on where you live. The west coast has different gas additives then east coast. I didn't know that until i had to buy gas for my dealer. At the Lexus i work at we have one pump in the back. The west coast gas is different because of California and all there dumb laws on the gas. So in Vegas we can only buy from company's that sell that gas. Not all do and thats why it is cheaper in other states. Thanks Cali.

The joint is prone to rust. Do you have any play in the steering wheel? Grease the shit out of the joint and turn the wheel full lock back and forth. If it fixes the stiffness, that's your culprit. If you do have play grab the top und of the shaft and twist it back and forth while looking at the joint. On mine I notice the play was in the joint. I also did have like 1 1/4" play in the steering wheel.

Definitely, and it is not just CA! There are several regions that have special gasoline formulation requirements and if the market is small, there might only be a handful of refiners willing to produce the blend; thereby restricting the number of sources. But all of the stations in that area would have to acquire it from one of those sources; and yes it can make it more expensive. It not so much of different additives, but rather different blend components that are needed to meet the region's gasoline specifications, which by the way, are different in the summer and winter.

Play as in loose or play as in no direct steering feel compared to something more sportier? I have no loose play if that's what you mean. I'll check it in a little bit.

Chevron is rated in the top 5 in every review I have read. The auto parts store was out so I bought royal purple and it did the trick. My truck almost instantly ran better. Very noticeable. I clearly had dirty/clogged injectors. My truck would knock and ping no matter where I bought my fuel or the grade of fuel I used. I even had the TSB done for engine knocking/pinging but nothing had an improvement like fuel system cleaner.
