My friends tell me that I have a bit of OCD when it comes to cleaning my truck. I have an unlimited monthly pass from my local car wash. It literally is right around the corner from my house. Needless to say that seeing I drive by the wash about 5 times a day. I pull in at least once a day for a wash and to use the free self service vacuums.

However there has been times when I will go through the wash twice a day… depends on the dust.

I find myself waxing at least once every other week in the summer and weather permitting once a month in the winter.

Just wondering if anyone else is washing 30-35 times a month?

I have dark colored vehicles so I won't use an automatic car wash. They leave those tiny swirls in your paint and they really show on darker paint. I hand wash and detail 1-2 times a month. Sealer twice a year.

OP, I think you have a problem, maybe there is a support group you can join for help. what a waste of water. trucks are meant to get dirty and those auto washes are just going to put light scratches all over your truck which is why you have to wax it every other week.

Why are you waxing every other week?

Oh, because you're washing it every day.

And for those who were talking about scratches on dark paint...nothing to worry about as the wash is a new operation with state of the art equipment... my only scratches are from the previous owner who used it as a truck.

It's an automatic drive through carwash.
Probly takes him 5min. Plus as he said he drives right by it.

I do like to take care of my rig. I usually clean it inside and out once a week on the weekends.....depending on the weather and my time. But it's not unusual for it to go a couple of weeks.

It's not an obsession though. I just genuinely enjoy getting up early on a beautiful Saturday morning and getting outside.
