Total chaos also sells the shafts... not sure if there is a company that sells a complete extended axle or not, the toal chaos shafts just use your factory CV joints.

Alright thanks guys! Only problem is they don't have an option for 96-04, I'll take that up with camburg when the time comes

I've seen people use first gen Tundra axles - not sure which applications they fit though. Not looking at a 3.5 kit for my truck so I haven't looked into it too much.

    Check out MCM Fab.

We use OEM Toyota Tundra 00-06 complete axle assemblies for our 1995.5-2004 Tacoma L/T kits. They bolt right up, allow for full wheel travel and are stronger than your stock ones since the Tundra uses a inner CV versus the tri-pod joint.

Buy them from Toyota though, not an auto parts store or something refurbished as they are not the same.

I used two tundra cv axles from oriellys

You have to modify the inner cup. You cut the lip and add a Porsche cv boot

This has gotten brought up a couple times and most guys say just wipe them clean and maybe use compressed air - you can keep them lubed with this if they're squeaking:

Camburg made a cap for uniballs, but I haven't heard it making a huge difference for longevity from anyone on here that's used them.

I wish Camburg would've made caps for the uniballs on the 1st gen UCA's but that part that goes up through the center that is part of the uniball sits higher than on 2nd gens.
Like you said though, it probably wouldn't matter because particles and crap can still get in there from the bottom. When I changed my LBJ's I took the whole uniball apart since when I put everything back together they squeaked bad and hadn't at all before.
The uniballs were all gummed up, so I cleaned them and the squeak is gone now. And I had been using Tri flow for the last 4 years that I've owned my Camburg UCA's. It's just weird they never squeaked till I changed the LBJ's.

Yeah I spray it out with compressed air now, I'll try the tri flow, I've just been using wd40, because I ran out of grease

    Check Build thread
First gen tundra cvs with modified boots...

I'd say autoparts store ones are fine (lifetime warrenty) unless you crawl gnar. The tundra cvs are stronger already than the stock taco cvs... the brand new Toyota ones would be even stronger but not everyone has the budget for those

The poly bushings where the bolt goes through the top of the UCA. In Post#13 I already said what I used for the uniballs. In Post#14 he said he was using wd40 on the uniballs cause he ran out of grease but was going to try Tri flow. That's why I said I use grease on the bushings. Never heard of grease ever being used on uniballs.

Why should I think this is the logical follow up to him saying he ran out of grease when he was talking about uniballs? We were talking about uniballs the whole time. Nothing wrong with the advice. Just making sure you weren't talking about uniballs... balls... lol :argue:

OP just said he's been using compressed air and WD-40 on his uniballs since he ran out of grease - that makes it seem like this discussion was possibly going in that direction. Just wanted to clarify that wasn't the case.
Nope. Unless you weld on a 5 lug front suspension mount setup on your frame. (Obviously you're not).
